Shelley hearing?
In his first game back since being suspended for two games on Dec. 13, Flyers enforcer Jody Shelley might have another suspension coming his way. Shelley was ejected from last night's long-gone game in the third period after dropping Canucks defenseman Andrew Alberts with a sucker punch in a scrum.
Shelley received a 5-minute major and a match penalty, which requires a mandatory supplementary discipline hearing with the NHL's dean of discipline, Colin Campbell, within 24 hours. Shelley was suspended for the fourth time in his career earlier in the month for a hit on Boston's Adam McQuaid, which was his first suspension since 2004 and his first stemming from a play that did not involve a fight.

Flyers forward Jody Shelley has received a two-game suspension for punching Canucks defenseman Andrew Alberts in the face late in the third period of Tuesday's 6-2 loss in Vancouver.
Alberts, a former Flyer, required assistance from the Canucks medical staff to leave the ice. Shelley received a game misconduct and match penalty.
A known enforcer who had been a healthy scratch for two games prior to Tuesday, Shelley is no stranger to the NHL's disciplinary process. He was suspended for two games on Dec. 13 for hitting Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid from behind.
Shelley's suspension means Dan Carcillo, who was scratched in favor of Shelley in Vancouver, will return to the lineup Thursday when the Flyers face the Los Angeles Kings.
