if thats the case then expect hodgson to be traded... all 3 center postion have a NTC 3yr +
kesler played some of his best hockey on the rightwing of sundin. if hodgson gets upgraded to 2nd line center, kesler can be there to take draws when needed and go back to wing. he can switch to wing easily, as can hodgson.
all bases are covered really.
^As much as I like Hodgson, there is no way in hell they throw him on the 2nd line right off the bat UNLESS he rips it up during camp. Plus, Raymond/Kes/Sammy had pretty good chemistry already with Sammy and Burrows switching from time to time.
mmmmmm
Sedin-Sedin-Burr
Raymond-Kes-Sammy
Tambellini-Hodgson-Malhotra
Hansen or Hordi-Rypien-Oreskovich
people gotta keep in mind burrows isnt gonna be ready to go when the season starts.
keep bieksa to pad the lead for no1 in the west
hahaha
but seriously, theres roughly 2mil left. with 3 players to resign. raymond with his numbers could command a stupid amount of money if he takes the nucks to arbitration.
cause what schroeder did for the Moose in the playoffs, he came out of college and played lights out for the first time with win during the most important time of the season.

I think it's tough for someone to play "lights out" for the moose when he's been injured.
Gillis stated in his interview on TSN (Gillis): ”Both, that’s what we talked to him about before we signed him, whether he was comfortable playing wing if we had a young centreman in the middle and he said absolutely he was. He’s a real solid guy, good character, good leadership, so he’s prepared to play at either position."
he didn't do much for the Moose last year but he had moments. It's very normal for a player coming out of Russia to have some problems getting used to the North American style of play.
Gillis wants to add grit. Unless Shirokov is just amazing offensively this training camp or has gotten a bit dirtier since we've last seen him play, I don't see him making the line-up this season.
Funny.... Remember how good Shirokov was during camp?
I think last season was different. Scoring was an issue and hence it seemed Shirokov's offense prowess was needed so heavily. Over the season, however, we realized we have offensive depth without him.
Coming into this season, we have proven offense and now we need more physical specialty teams/role players. Which is why unless Shirokov goes OV during camp (i.e. surprisingly better than last camp) I don't think there's a spot for him.
