Pittsburgh fans and their mgmt will be so pissed if that 3rd round pick they traded to Philly for the rights to Hamhuis actually turns into something good! Anybody else notice the Canucks love making trades with Florida? Bure, Luongo and now Ballard? |

hope to see bieksa gone and fetch us something good :D This should be the d-core on opening night Ballard (4.2) - Ehrhoff (3.1) Hamhuis (4.5) - Edler (3.25) O'Brien/Mitchell (1.75) - Salo (3.5) Rome (0.7) vs colby armstrong |
Bieksa is a warrior no question about that |

According to nhlnumbers.com, we have 2.6 million to sign at least 3 more forwards AND Mason Raymond... I guess a trade is inevitable now... |

^ Im more bothered about the NTC that Malhotra got, more so than the $$$ |
its only 2 years guys nothing bad at all |

but i don't see how the ntc will be much of a problem sj offered 2.2m btw |
yep 3 but that aint bad at all, for the price and the size is worth it. Not only that its a money maker cause a great number of the east indian fans will prob buy his jersey to support him. |
The thing with a NTC is generally a player would take less money for that security. In this case, Malhotra was overpaid and also received a NTC.. |

Unless you are talking about some other contract. |
According to Sportnet, Olli had no offers and ended up jumping on the first offer that he was given. |

i think he should be getting paid 1.5-1.8 mill with a NTC. somewhere around there is good for his size on the 3rd/4th line. |

He is getting $2.5M per year while the Nuck's offerened Raymond $750K for his qualifying offer and Burrow's is only getting $2M a year as a 30 goal man. MM was making $700K last year. I guess this is why I was curious to see what happened in the negotiations that got him so much $$$ and a NTC. Not much of a hometown discount if you ask me. Oh yeah, bye bye Bieska and Mitchel |

:rofl::rofl: I'm still laughing at this. I wonder what iggy, kipper, and the others reactions were when they heard the news. First day of practice for them would be awkward to see oilli back. Not to mention it would be super awkward between sutter and oilli for the next 2 seasons.:rofl::rofl: |

it would make sense to trade biekshit then to free up cap space for other contracts. especially raymond since we traded away grabner, he must be signed! |

07/08 - 59.0% -2nd league best 06/07 - 55.1% -12th league best 05/06 - 56.4% -6th league best if you want to compare to what the canucks top FO men were those seasons: 08/09 - kyle wellwood @ 57.5 07/08 - ryan kesler @ 53.0 06/07 - henrik sedin @ 52.5 05/06 - henrik sedin @ 50.7 40 points for a 3rd liner is all you ask. do you expect him to get 50+ with limited offensive minutes? he had more points last year than wellwood, johnson, bernier, hansen...any of our bottom 6 guys. he got more points than colby armstrong who got 500k more. one point every two games means we're getting great secondary scoring. plus that's not the reason he was brought in. burrows@2m is a great contract, one of the best in the league. but you can't expect everyone to take a huge discount like that and we're not always going to hit home runs. and if you think raymond is getting 750k i'm not sure you understand what a qualifying offer means. sharks offered 2.2m, we want a player like this in an open bidding market, we're going to have to pay for it. the NTC is also limited, probably along the lines of "i do not want to be traded to this list of 5 teams" or whatever. hardly a clause where he has the upper hand. people shouldn't use heatley's nightmare talks as an example for everything. |

But who am to judge Gillis' descisions. Oh yeah, he only had 33 pts this year, a career high of 14 goals. |
