But who am to judge Gillis' descisions.

Oh yeah, he only had 33 pts this year, a career high of 14 goals.

his reg season faceoff % with the sharks was 62.5%. i believe you need 700 face offs taken to be listed on the nhl stats, and he was 36 shy. if he kept up his performance he would have led the league.

Something interesting that I noticed, is that Scott Nichol has had a few seasons where he was near the top on the faceoff%.

Add in Thornton and Pavelski being in the top 20 almost every year for the past few years. Even without MM, SJ is still has 3 very good faceoff people.

interesting that nichol took more draws than malhotra during reg season, but mm took more draws during playoffs.

they also have marleau who is decent on draws.

that would be working magic if he did and what a job he would of done so far beyond expeditions then what we thought he was going to do

raygunpk 07-01-2010 10:30 PM

also malhotra had a 2 year/4m contract on the table with ATL, before he decided to take a massive paycut at 700k, to a cup contender. so you know this guy wants to win. the sharks board have nothing but praise for him.

and bieksa for filatov = creampants

yes, if i remembered correctly he was on the canucks roster last season for a try out then got cut... now we want him back paying 2.5/yr? We will have to witness what he can bring to us. (He is steve nash brother inlaw)

Would be a sweet move if we pull it off cause at this point all we really want to do is ship him off and get his salary off the books. Only thing that makes me hesitant is the whole "Russian factor"

33 pts and 14 goals is exactly what you want from a 3rd line player.

It was what Chouinard was getting before coming to Vancouver and it looked like a perfect signing at the time...

at the time...

well i'm still not convinced about our goaltending...schneider hasn't proved his worth at all in the nhl...most of his starts as a canuck has been horrible...and he has a horrible GAA in the NHL

Too bad, if he doesn't gain some experience in the NHL hes only gonna be worth a bag of pucks. I think he will prove himself but it just depends how long its gonna take.

so you got any comments on the new players that we picked up?

everything sounds good to me except for the 2.5mill/year for 3 year deal with a NTC for MM.
