Kes even hitting 30 is great considering most experts or analysts pegged him as a 20 goal scorer. He's on pace for 40 so let's hope he can keep it going. I'll quote the great Mugatu and say, "He's so hot right now" If Kes becomes a consistent 30 goal guy in addition to his 2 way game, suddenly his 5M does look like a hometown discount. ^ sure beats kessel's 5M deal. |
Schneider gets the start against the NYR tomorrow. |

highlights from last night :) |
Every player should do the spinorama. Haven't seen a single goalie save it... impossible..., 100% goal guarantee. (unless the player messes up himself) |

this ?? he actually hit the post |
a goalie can stop it, but the goalie cant get pulled more than half away across the crease or else yea it's pretty much a sure thing also if the player gets it up that makes it alot harder to save than the Turco save with the paddle down, when i watched Raymond do it i was almost thinking that they came to the conclusion to get him to start practicing that because it's basically a sure thing if you can do it properly, so at least get the nucks 1 goal in the SO lol |
^ yea, that's the one, i remembered it slightly wrong. i thought he missed but hitting the post makes it just that much more frustrating! note: lu made 2 saves in that shootout + bert hitting the post :D |
yeah, it's really a sure goal in my opinion if it's done correctly. Even if some of them are bad enough to be borderline goalie interference, they would count anyway. Shannon performed his move way too early on Turco... (He didn't even bump into the goalie!) although had Shannon been a left shooter, Turco's glove reach (rather than stick reach), probably would not have saved it. Shannon performs it "excellently" on Khabibulin, as he slides into him, blocking/moving him out to reveal a wide open net. It would be fun to see a team pull off 3 of these moves in a row during a shootout. Quote:
with the goalie, the goalie just gets blocked/moved off to one side anyway... I've been watching a bunch of these type of goals lately. Some of them are pretty good, freezes the goalie up, some of them I find questionable, when a lot of contact is made with the goaltender. And others, seem to be performed way too slow and unsmooth, I don't even know should it be considered "continuous motion" |
goalies will start shoving the player if they put their back to them, but then you better make sure you've got your paddle down lol Poulin or w/e looked choked after the raymond goal lol |
Last night my friends and I were watching sportsnet after the nucks game and we came to a point were we were like...Yo, how long has Don Taylor been saying the same shit over and over again every day or so?! I mean I remember when he was on channel 13 late night doing their sports and now has that permanent job on sportsnet. Don't get me wrong, I love Don Taylor. He is after all the voice of the Canucks but the shits he says are commical too! Here are some my friends and I remembered from watching him all these years... "Brian Rolston scores and assist, as always, goes to his ventriloquist's dummy George." "Goal scored by Andrew Brunette, the assists go to Blonde and Redhead." "I think he got his left "khabi" on that shot, or was it his right "bulin"?" "Shean Donovan, they call him mellow yellow" "[Goaltender or Player] makes the save or scores a goal in a style reminiscent of a young [Obscure Retired Goaltender or Player]." "bulges the twine" or "ripples the mesh" "Sportsnet Judge, [Sportsnet Personality] gives the fight to [Player Name]" (Jim Van Horne's moustache, Jody Vance's "sexy librarian glasses," Hazel Mae's "little leather skirt") "JO-HAN HEEEEDBERG!" "...gaaaaathering speed", "...skating gingerly", and "eNORMous save" "Some advice to young broadcasters; anytime you get a chance to use the word 'brouhaha,' you take it!" "Makes the pad save in Rapier like fashion!" "Bryan Smolinski, scores in Smolinski-an fashion." "And THAT is as CLOSE as they will COME." There are more but we laught too hard to remember the rest LOL, I always watch him at night before I go to sleep. |
well hes probably been in sportsnet for at least 6-7 years now, and on team1040 he said he was with sportspage for 14 years, so hes been around for a while now |
