i think you guys are assuming too much by placing us in 1st. there's no guarantee we will be the number 1 seed in the west at this point.

Gumby 01-19-2011 10:18 AM

Hate it when we outshoot the other team and end up losing.

Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla has withdrawn from the NHL All-Star Game for family reasons. Iginla said in a press release that he wishes to spend more time with his ailing grandmother. Flyers' forward Danny Briere has been selected to replace Iginla in the Jan. 30 game.

For what it's worth, even after last night's OT loss, based on statistics, we're still 75% likely to finish 1st in the conference.

Former NHL player and Edmonton Oilers colour commentator Dennis (Louie) DeBrusk faces multiple charges after an alleged rampage in Vancouver.

Vancouver police say they were called to the 1600 block of Bayshore Drive at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 9 after reports of a man assaulting four people and damaging two taxicabs.

When officers arrived on scene, they arrested the 39-year-old Edmontonian.

DeBrusk is now charged with four counts of assault and two counts of mischief under $5,000.
His next scheduled court date is tomorrow.

The former left-winger was drafted 49th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1989 NHL entry draft.

He went on to play 401 career NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Phoenix Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks.

He tallied 41 points and 1,161 penalty minutes.

LoL... that means there will be ZERO players to represent the Flames, because they don't have any Rookies going either.

Well that sucks... I should drop Briere from my pool now, cause he's not
pissed about the snubbing anymore.

If I recall correctly, Samuelsson was bitter enough to still decline Team Sweden even had he been offered a spot as a last min sub?

n/m, found it.

He also closed the door to the possibility that he could be a replacement in case of an injury. "Not a chance," he said. "If [Swedish coach Bengt-Aake Gustafsson] doesn't want me, he doesn't want me."

Yep I agree it would be awesome if they get picked for different teasm

woob 01-19-2011 02:27 PM

I actually want them to be on the same team and then steal the show over Crosby, Ovi, etc.

Not really racist! 01-19-2011 02:32 PM

Crosby is unlikely to play anyways...

We need a change for once, Sedin VS Sedin for the entertainment value

I traded Iginla, Visnovsky and Varlamov for Taylor Hall and Rask yesterday.

Keeper league...I had two too many keepers anyways and Varlamov never plays since I have Lundqvist.

AzNightmare 01-19-2011 04:15 PM

How does "Keepers" work? (I only played weekly heads up before)
I don't understand why you would dump Visnovsky and pick up Rask over Varlamov.

(I obviously don't know how keepers work)

shawn79 01-19-2011 04:18 PM

whos the perfect for the sedins to play on rw?

a player who goes to the dirty area and has a laser beam shot?
