if that left pad hadnt of completely broken the line and they still called it goal i woulda bombed the NHL offices

it's a fair call because the pad that the puck was in was completely crossed the line, but imo if Lu had of slid out of the crease, stood up and the puck dropped out from an unknown spot, it should not have been a goal

AzNightmare 01-22-2011 09:08 PM

I don't see what's with all the whining.
Ref retrieved the puck from Luongo's knee.
Luongo's whole leg was well past the goal line.

How hard is it to understand?
We don't really need to see where the puck is
in the review if we already know where it is.

I hate how when calls are made fair and square,
everyone only complains if it's not beneficial to their team.

Yup, agree. Had Luongo been able to get up quickly enough, before the linesman (or was it the ref?)
that located and pointed the puck was in his knee, we wouldn't have been able to make a definite decision then.
So would have been no goal.

^
agreed
the call was fair

I wasn't surprised we lost in the shootout. Got used to it long ago lol.

EDIT:

did some reading and seems like *technically* if all replays are inconclusive (ie. can't see the puck in this case) then they have to go back to the ref's call on the ice. In this case it should've been a no goal.
fack

Pretty much guaranteed if we go to SO, we lose. But just be optimistic that there's no SO in playoff.

but our OT and shootout record worries me more

Which is why the team has to fucking avoid ties at all costs.

Who do VooDoo? The team needs to hire an exorcist or something to rid them of the shootout curse.

Kipper's poke check was awesome.

don't need to be so negative...
I'm more surprised that the war room decide to overturn the call on the ice when video replay doesn't even show the puck!

Yes, the puck was in Lui's right pad but I think the call on the ice should stand.

My opinion anyway:speechless:

Not negative at all. I am stating facts based on statistics and history.

Positive side, 1 point. Better than losing like Detroit with 0 points right?

Im bigger than most the fans in my section...they wouldnt try anything hahaha ;)

actually the nucks fan i was next to was a pretty good guy, we stuck it to eachother the whole game

I probably pooped myself 8.5 times......what is the .5, you ask...that was a turtlehead that receded...

also i had about 10 heart-attacks at this game....mental note...never go to live games, may cause stress induced heart failure

I think someone on the TEAM 1040 called the league to ask about the decision, and was informed that there actually ISN'T any rule that says you have to see the puck across the goal line. As long as they can confidently determine that it was fully across, it can be deemed a good goal.

In this case, they did know where the puck was... under the pad. The entire pad was across the goal line.

Therefore, the puck had to have been completely across the goal line.

I hate listening to Mark Lee and Kevin Weekes. We deserve someone better like Jim Hughson
