He's going there to be with his wife

That's just the media spin on it, I'm sure. I doubt that his wife being in Nashville made the difference for Fisher. More like Nashville is a great, vastly underrated team with a coach that's always in Jack Adams contention and a GM that can build a winner despite squeezing dollars. Other than Detroit, I'd say Nashville is the best run team in the league for the longest time.

These guys are professionals. Plus I'm sure Fisher and Underwood have a fuck ton of money to fly themselves wherever each other are...that and they're probably away from home most of the time anyways.

The Preds are a scarier team than most people give them credit for. I admit I don't think they're a legitimate playoff threat yet but I'm always impressed with how much they get out of that team with no superstars. It's a team full of third liners but they work hard and play a complete team game.

I always get Mike Fisher and Mike Comrie mixed up and you can see why. Both look roughly the same and both are married to pretty blond white girls...but Fisher is just a NHL player while Comrie is rich as fuck since his family owns The Brick.

raygunpk 02-10-2011 03:07 PM

Mike Fisher is way hotter

:hay:

raygunpk 02-10-2011 03:21 PM

lol penguins lineup tonight:

Pascal Dupuis * Jordan Staal * Tyler Kennedy

Mike Rupp * Max Talbot * Chris Conner

Ryan Craig * Joe Vitale * Craig Adams

Brett Sterling * Dustin Jeffrey * Nick Johnson

Out:
Crosby
Malkin
Kunitz
Cooke
Letestu
Asham
Comrie

It's like the Canucks, except with forwards. And worse.

InvisibleSoul 02-10-2011 03:34 PM

Don't know if it's a joke or not, but I heard a Nashville newspaper headline said "Predators acquire Carrie Underwood's husband". :p

JesseBlue 02-10-2011 03:43 PM

^not a joke...they got mike fisher...what i heard was mike fisher was about to become a nashville star himself

I know the news is true... but whether the headline is true... the fact they would write it as "Carrie Underwood's Husband" instead of just saying Mike Fisher...

AzNightmare 02-10-2011 04:21 PM

No one in Nashville even knows they have a hockey team. So probably it's true.
They know who Underwood is... but no idea about the Predators or Mike Fisher.

murd0c 02-10-2011 04:28 PM

It's a very smart move by Nashville. Good on them I enjoy seeing moves like that which will help a team on and off the ice.

He waived his no trade to go to either Nashville or LA

Unlikely. Kane has a NMC and so he would really need to waive that. And TBH, who the hell wants to play in Buffalo?

Miller has a NTC but is limited yet I could see him waiving to go the Chicago.

From where? Ehklund? This wouldn't happen. Doesn't make sense for Chicago, they know they don't need an all-star goalie to win the cup. Kane isn't even in his prime yet and to me he's the best player on his team. 0% this trade ever happens.

I think it's somewhat likely. Yeah Chicago has been his home since he got drafted, but Buffalo is his hometown. Plus he's already won a cup in Chicago...

However, as much as I enjoy watching monster trades take place, still a slim chance this is gonna happen.

Yup that was the headline, not really surprising, most Americans don't know who average NHLers are just like most Canadians have no idea who average NBA players are.

barry trotz is an amazing coach. nashville is also notorious for pumping out some top dmen.
nearly every year it always seems like they are just sort of 'breaking even', not doing that bad, not doing so great, a few short win streaks in the season. but yeah, definitely an underrated team.

stupid team1040 callers who are suggesting we pick up chris neil.

shawn79 02-11-2011 01:42 AM

how good would the preds be if radulov was still on that team?
