it feels better for me to say tied for 4th hehehe

mako 02-16-2011 08:52 PM

doesnt matter where the Flamers are ranked, they're going out in the 1st round

scottsman 02-16-2011 10:31 PM

^ even with the Tie flames have less wins as of now as well they have more shoot out wins which are not counted in the tie break.

Gh0stRider 02-16-2011 10:53 PM

looks like its 8th place for u

wow if you just look at the goal differentials, canucks is way up there with +59, the next closest one is wings with +24...almost doubled!

what domination!!
im surprised dallas is -4 and still in the playoff race! lol

you could make the same argument for the hawks and kings who have positive goal differentials at +25 and +21. I guess the case here is that they score lots when they win but when they lose, its usually by one or two goals

This is exactly the case. The 7-1, 6-1 victories add up. I don't put a lot of stock in that number. It is hardly relevant.

minisota, LA and chicago, with games in hand, are still mathematically able to drop the flames down to 11th too. lets hope its only 10th tho, so chicago and calgary both miss the playoffs.

incorrect sir.

the 7-1 loss to chicago and 6-2 loss to the wild are also in there.

but thats not the point. the canucks have scored 5 or more goals (by my count) 11 times in 58 games spread evenly thru the season. if you can light up 5 goals in a night, you're probably going to win that game. and when you couple that with having the lowest GAA in the league at 2.36, while having the highest Goals For at 3.38, you've got a real good shot at winning ALOT of games. which, by golly, the canucks ARE doing!

AzNightmare 02-17-2011 12:12 AM

Don't really care who has 68 pts, when Canucks are up there with 83...

Believe me, you'll care when it determines who they face in the first round of the playoffs

RiceIntegraRS 02-17-2011 12:38 AM

ill take dallas, since we've destroyed them all season long

Airtrackz 02-17-2011 01:23 AM

West is too crazy, Colorado is only 1 game under .500 and they're 2nd to last place?

Yeah probably... but still, too far to care still.
Since it's that tight, what we care about now will probably be changed by the time playoffs come.

Harvey Specter 02-17-2011 03:04 AM

WTF @ the Flamers. Their ripping shit up right now but man the battle for the final few playoff spots is going to be intense and exciting to watch, god I love when there's under 15 games remaining and teams fighting their way in. Only thing is if the Canucks remain first, they will face a hot team come the first round and we all remember what the Oilers did a few years ago or what the Habs did last season.

raygunpk 02-17-2011 03:30 AM

Rumor that Bieksa is out long term.
Not confirmed yet.
