I'll probably get flamed for this, but anyway, am I the only one who thinks that Naslund didn't do enough to warrant a retired number? He was the ultimate playoff choker. |
lol @ Oilers' radio host ripping on the Canucks http://twitter.com/dantencer funny thing is he's an Oilers fan |
say wut u want but Nazzy's one of the best Canucks in history... 12 years with the Canucks and leading in points... classy leader and his # should definitely be retired |

Yes man: "You're right sir! i know! Let's take the vintage rink stick jersey we had before and change the lettering and add a dinky V to the sleeves and sell it as our NEW jersey!" Aquilini: "hmmm..." Yes man #2: "We'll remove the name plates on the back to lower the cost!" Aquilini: *eyes turn into $$$ signs* "Sounds good! Git er done" |
Nazzy is good but Bure was way more exciting. |

yea Bure's 7 seasons with us were frickin amazing but the way he left... i don't see it happening |
@skinnypup, its a mixed bag. u'll get eaten alive on canucks.com hahahaha no worries @murdoc. I love Bure, he was the reason I got into hockey, but I think nazzy out did him for contributions OFF the ice Pavel Bure vs Markus Naslund will make up for a VERY VERY GOOD DAY of radio 2molo One can say, Bure took us to the finals and Nazzy never got us past the 2nd round then again, the contributions to the team as a PERSON, Nazzy wins this by a mile Bure was exciting vs points recorded by Nazzy In my mind, to keep tradition with the past 2 retirees, there has to be certain conditions to warrant such honor 1. Be a leader on and off the ice 2. Be a contributor to the community that has blessed your presence in Vancouver. GIVE BACK Its not about longevity or Loyalty, its about the effort and how the player is presented as a PERSON on and off the ice. |

Yup, Naslund did amazing work off the ice. Hell, he paid for a private box so kids and others could come watch the games for free. The man had heart and he was a leader on the ince for most of his time in Vancouver. I'm glad the Canucks have retired his number. I still can't forget Nazzy's face during the last game for Linden, he look so heart broken because deep down he knew he wasn't coming back to Vancouver. |
|
^Isnt it cause the Canucks made Bure pay to actually come to Canada to play for the Canucks And didnt the Canucks tell Bure that his first 60 goal season was a fluke? And there was a story about Bure withdrawing his services for the playoffs until he got a new contract, and he denied it, and the Canucks didnt back him on it? And didnt the Canucks trick Bure into paying him in CND Dollars where his 2 russian counterparts Mogilny and Fedorov were being paid in US just off the top of my head |
My favorite part was (and I don't remember exactly how he worded the question): Someone asked: "Are you gonna do something bout the intros? The Oilers and Flames have fire and stuff and all we have are players coming our and skating around." Gillis: "...I rather have a hockey team" |

It was unfortunate that Trevor was the star that game and stole the limelight from Nazzy, but Im sure he understands. It was also unfortunate he was never the same player since the bertuzzi incident, but it never took anything away from him as a PERSON |

hahahaha then Gillis owned him |

i enjoyed watching Bure's play more as it was more exciting but i still think nazzy deserved it more |

or if it was Mike Gillis that replaced the former agent someone refresh my memory |
