Expected D vs Habs: Hamhuis-Salo/ Ballard-Ehrhoff/ Rome-Tanev. Luongo starts.
Hope Hamhuis & Ballard aren't rushing back and that they're 100%

I tried telling this to a coworker today and he countered with this story saying Molson is now the official NHL beer: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=553702 Quote:
The National Hockey League (NHL) today announced a major agreement with brewers Molson Coors (NYSE: TAP) in Canada and MillerCoors in the U.S., awarding flagship brand Molson Canadian exclusive League rights in the beer sponsorship category, including the rights to the Official Beer of the NHL® designation, beginning with the 2011-12 NHL season. The deal will span seven years.
In addition to becoming the official and exclusive beer sponsor of the NHL, Molson Canadian will gain the same distinction for key League events, including NHL Face-Off™, NHL Winter Classic®, NHL Heritage Classic™, NHL All-Star, as well as the opportunity to offer consumer promotions involving the Stanley Cup. The deal also provides the brand with opportunities to engage fans through NHL media assets NHL.com, NHL Network™, NHL Mobile™ and NHL Social. Molson Canadian is currently the Official Beer sponsor of many NHL teams in Canada and the U.S.
While Molson Canadian will be the lead brand on the NHL alliance in both countries, Coors Light will share some of the sponsorship assets in the U.S. and Canada.
"This partnership with Molson Coors and MillerCoors will be groundbreaking for the NHL and our fans," said John Collins, NHL Chief Operating Officer. "Molson Canadian is an iconic brand with a rich hockey heritage and Coors Light has a track record of connecting with sports fans in innovative and effective ways. The combination of unprecedented support of our clubs and TV rightsholders with activation across the NHL's comprehensive portfolio of marketing and media assets will create great opportunities for both brands."
Dave Perkins, President and CEO, Molson Coors Canada, said, "Molson Canadian is synonymous with the game of hockey and was the brand that helped build the tradition of 'Hockey Night' across Canada. Partnering with the NHL reinforces Molson Canadian's 'Made from Canada' brand position, and also reflects our company's desire to help Canadians connect over shared passions and great beer."
"Molson Canadian has a long history of supporting hockey at all levels and will use this platform to build momentum in the States, especially in its core markets where hockey already has a stronghold with fans," said Andy England, Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at MillerCoors. "And Coors Light, the brand that's all about 'cold refreshment,' will use the NHL partnership to strengthen its presence in NHL markets, especially in regions such as the Northeast and Great Lakes."
The partnership between Molson Coors and MillerCoors on the NHL sponsorship is just one example of the benefits of the U.S.-based joint venture between Molson Coors and SABMiller that resulted in the establishment of MillerCoors.

but still, I don't mind if valid points are thrown out.
Whoever said Iggy was "just good" made a dumb comment.
Spezza has several good seasons, that "one good season" comment was retarded.
He has declined a bit, but none the less, he's still a pt/game player, and dangerous.
I don't know about Canucks cracking under pressure,
a strong still ends up winning the cup.
I believe all the strong teams will have pressure regardless, so it doesn't matter.
This is probably the best Vancouver team in their franchise history, so let's see what happens.

Both teams are in the final season of multi-year deals with Labatt archrival Molson Coors. It’s the first time Labatt has sponsored an NHL team directly.

The ownership situation is getting urgent in Atlanta. We were told this weekend that the league is trying mighty hard to find a new owner who's willing to keep the team in Atlanta.
The league's sole focus right now is to keep the team in Atlanta and given its ability to find new owners in Tampa, Buffalo and Phoenix, it's not unrealistic to think the league won't be able to pull it off again. However, should a new owner not be found in the next six to eight weeks, we're told the Thrashers could indeed be up for relocation and Winnipeg would very likely be the new home. | |

That's fine with me!
I mean, I welcome debate and banter between Vancouver and Calgary fans. Living in Vancouver, I'm used to it. But like I said earlier to that other guy, if you're going to slam Calgary, don't be an idiot about it.
I'm actually weighing whether I should keep posting in this thread, because apparently just being a Calgary fan earns me fails, cuz as far as I can tell, I made a pretty well-reasoned retort to buddy's ignorant comments and got failed anyway. |

I look forward to seeing the debut of the new mask, but not really a big fan of it.
Any reason why he decided today to be the day for it's debut?
Luongo should and paint an Olympic Gold Medal on his helmet.

With that said, I think Iginla is Linden's equal in heart, respect around the league, and leadership. But skill-wise, Iginla is on top.

the whole molson thing is so they can say "beer of the nhl" it doesnt mean each arena has to sell their product just that all advertising the nhl does has to be a molson beer not a different one or at least to my knowledge that is it because the nhl doesn't own the arenas.

There are many great players in this game that deserve a cup. There were also many great players who retired without one. Iginla is a great player who deserves one and needs to retire with one. Nothing but respect for the guy.

Iggy beats Linden's skill set but don't forget that Linden scored plenty in his career as well. He wasn't a 4th liner. Linden was a clutch performer, especially in the playoffs.
