I wouldn't hold my breath.

Tim Budong 02-27-2011 09:49 PM

brad Boyes goes to Buffalo with a 2nd round goin back to STL...

so yea.. With Chris Phillips signed, it probably will be uneventful, that is for us in the west, becuz all the trades or most of them involve eastern teams. Only notable trade out west would be the avs/blues trade so far. Who knos, thigns could change and heat up

stolengoods 02-27-2011 09:55 PM

We'll try to get Marty Reasoner.

The only reason the name's been passed around is cuz Torres raves about him as a former linemate
whether there is any truth to that. we will see.

stolengoods 02-27-2011 11:06 PM

No it's because he can PK, good on faceoffs, decent size/physicality and fits within the cap... everything we want as a 4th line center. Can also switch with Malhotra as 3rd line C if he isn't working out in the playoffs.
I wouldn't be surprised if we sent a 2nd or 3rd rd pick to Florida for him.

aaaa322 02-28-2011 12:04 AM

Marty reasoner will be nice. Our 4th line has been so inconsistent this year besides Glass. I would be glad to have an actual gritty centre playing the role. Hodgson is not the answer folks; he needs to be in the minors tanking 20 mins a night until he's ready for a top-6 role.

b0unce. [?] 02-28-2011 12:46 AM

marty reasoner will be a useless pick up. the only thing we would want to improve on our team is too add some size and grit. marty reasoner wont add that imo. the guy is like 35, fairly injury prone, he averages like 20 - 25 points roughly. he'll essentially be another 'manny malhotra' type player as far as size/age/physicality, only with a shittier FO%. unless we aquire him for next to nothing, i dont think it'll be smart to grab him.

shawn79 02-28-2011 01:26 AM

trade tambellini for konopoka :troll:

we need neil, how do we get his 2mill under our cap?

I think if we get "another Manny Malhotra" we should be happy. I'd love to clone him and put him on the 4th line. 20th in the league in faceoff % at 54.3...which is a big improvement right now over Hodgson's 38.1%. 20-25 points from a 4th liner is great, and we wouldn't be bringing him in to score so I don't see why that even matters. He wouldn't be garnering much interest if he was a "useless pickup".

I wouldn't be opposed to Neil either, and maybe Konopka(better at faceoffs, fights, much worse offensively).

yes we do want them to score. 4th liners need goals/points as well. as good as malhotra is, you cant expect him to just win faceoffs. malhotra went a cold streak for a while and it wasnt until recently when he got some points. i'm pretty sure reasoner is even a topic of discussion is cause torres used to play with him =/ i mean if you want him for play off experience, its not that great either.

mb_ 02-28-2011 04:11 AM

DO NOT want Konopka. His faceoff % is good, his PIM is not.

All thumbs. LOL. FLA trades Dvorak and a 5th rder to ATL for Bergfors and Rissmiller.
I'm shocked, Tallon finally makes a sensible trade for FLA lol.

Gh0stRider 02-28-2011 08:17 AM

Captials acquire D Dennis Wideman from Panthers for F Jake Hauswirth and 2011 3rd round pick.
