Wow.. with all this hype, it would really suck if somehow Hamhuis doesn't live up to his expectation. D:

i'm down for a group buy too

Expresso 07-09-2010 07:02 AM

Hahah at this moment there really is no group buy!

SkinnyPupp 07-09-2010 07:10 AM

What's the benefit of buying this as a group, rather than walking into a store and getting it yourself?

Pacific Coast Cresting is another. They're local in Vancouver. I got my Kesler jersey from them. I believe it was around $160. Nice guy to deal with and they do a pretty nice job.

Usually group buys will include a little bit of a discount because they're selling a higher volume. Really depends on the company and whether they do group buys though.

The name plates where apparently left off Sedins jersey only for the photoshoot, they will be added for the games.

I think I'll grab a Kesler 40th anniversary jersey

AzNightmare 07-09-2010 08:17 AM

I didn't think you're even allowed to play without your name on your jersey?

That's correct, NHL rule 9.2

Quote:

9.2 Numbers - Each player and each goalkeeper listed in the line-up of each team shall wear an individual identifying number at least ten inches (10'') high on the back of his sweater. Sweater numbers such as 00, ½ (fractions), .05 (decimals), 101 (three digit) are not permitted. In addition, each player and goalkeeper shall wear his surname in full, in block letters three inches (3'') high, across the back of his sweater at shoulder height.
Little blurb from when name plates became mandatory lol
Quote:

"In the mid 1970s when the NHL passed a rule that players last names must be on the back of their jerseys, Ballard refused, citing it as a threat to program sales. After being threatened with a large fine, Ballard "complied" by putting the names in blue letters on the Leafs' blue road jerseys, and in white on their white home jerseys, making them unreadable. After being fined, he backed down and put the names in the opposite colors."
