Huet= Happiest man in the NHL... Get paid 5million + per year to sit on the bench...and have his name on the cup

I'm sure he would have much rather played.

Who wants to win a cup by sitting on he bench the whole time??? No one likes to sit.

which is also why brodeur wasn't overly happy when we won the gold medal

Hondaracer 07-12-2010 05:14 PM

Huet will probably go play in Europe or somthing if they buy him out

I don't think the Hawks can even afford the buyout cap hit, they'll likely just loan him to an European team like the Caps did with Nylander to just totally get his salary off their books with no cap hit.

Ronin 07-12-2010 06:48 PM

Does he have a no movement?

Otherwise, they could just demote him and eat the salary without it being against the cap.

why not canada?

where does it say that? looks to me like Quebec and Winnipeg are the top choices with Hamilton and TO way way behind.

So from what I've read, the Hawks have $113,410 in cap space and 15 players under contract. That can't be right...Even if they sent Huet's 5,625,000 contract down to the AHL, they still only have $5,738,410 with 14 players signed.

They are probably thinking, Tallon fucked us up! But hey, at least they won the cup. I hope another GM doesn't bail them out and take Campbell's contact off their hands. It does look like Sharp is in play which could be a huge loss.

From Lebrun:
My ESPNChicago colleague Jesse Rogers believes Patrick Sharp could be in play as well now and he's much more easily moveable... We'll see

Damn, Hawks are dismantling!

NYR or Montreal will find a way to rescue them.

Expresso 07-13-2010 07:39 AM

Man I can't believe Bobby Ryan turned down a 5yr/25M contract. Anymore he would be paid at Getzlaf money.

Tegra_Devil 07-13-2010 08:12 AM

official...Gary Bettman wont be stepping down from his position anytime soon... :(

he also made $7.23 Million last year for all those great decisions :fuuuuu:

cctw 07-13-2010 09:39 AM

Yes but we don't know when that will happen

MR_BIGGS 07-13-2010 10:40 AM

Last week, while partaking in the Blackhawks' summer developmental camp, Beach added another story to his growing presence when he and Norwegian import Mathis Olimb mixed it up not once, but twice during a scrimmage.

Here's video via Ms. Blackhawks of the second scrap: (Beach is in white)

It was pretty obvious they'd be dumping/trading him as soon as they signed Hamhuis.
