So bittersweet seeing Schneider play so well this season. I am almost melancholic watching Schneider play SO well this season.

When he was drafted, Canuck fans all thought he would be the Goalie of the future. So hopeful. After years and years of being let down by goaltending and poor draft picks, there was something Canuck fans had to look forward to in the future.

We followed him as he grew and nurtured through college and Manitoba. We were disappointed to not see him make the team last season and the season before that, but were hopeful to hear about his successes as he blossomed in the Moose. And this season, we finally get to see and experience, what we were all hoping for when the Canucks first drafted him nearly seven years ago.

However, we all know in the back of our heads, that this will very likely be the first, and last season we will ever see Cory Schneider wear a Canucks uniform.

As long as we make the finals, I don't care if he leaves next year :fullofwin:

i think you're absolutely correct. BUT! it's in cory's best interest to become a #1 goalie for another team and i wish him all the best in his future. he's simply too good to be our backup forever. we are being spoiled by two excellent goalies at the moment. and yes, i also believe that cory has pushed luongo to be better (as 89blkcivic pointed out).

Definitely, it's like seeing a kid grow up in front of your eyes and moving out on his own into the world. I am happy for him and would like to see him do well in the future, but also at the same time, sad to see him go.

spoon.ek9 03-10-2011 09:50 PM

it's times like these i wish there was no god damn salary cap!! there's nothing i would like more than to keep these two goalies :D
