Patrick Roy won many cups too with his constant raging and lack of composure.
HOW HE DO THAT?!!
Luongo's composure in the Blackhawks series got him nowhere... both times. |

to say that manny's vision isn't coming back and his career is over is a bit jumping the gun at this point. You have to wait for swelling and any type of corneal damage to heal (which could take a while) in order to get a good diagnosis. I would give it at least a few weeks before saying "his career is over if it isn't better". Would you say that someone's career/ chance of walking was over just because they couldn't start walking a week after they broke their leg?

Luongo's composure in the Blackhawks series got him nowhere... both times. | Even if losing your composure positively or negatively affected the outcome of the team, why would you want a clown for a Coach. yes, there are many times I wish AV would throw bottles at the refs etc.. but what good would that do? It takes more to stay composed then to unleash the immature rage within. Would any of you rage out, bitch at your boss and throw shit at your own work? Some of you probably would, but 99% of us wouldn't because we know that in the end it will get us nowhere, and probably cost us our job. Hockey at a professional level is no different. The bitchign and whining is generally left for us fans to do. When was the last time you bitched off a ref and had a call reversed and things went your way? As a hockey player, you should know that the best thing you could do is build a positive rapport with the refs.

However, if you bitch and complain about a shitty call. Ya, the ref isn't likely to overturn it. Giving the ref an earfull does a couple things. For one, the refs don't like getting earfulls of bitching and complaining. It draws attention to their job and if someone is conflicting with the ref in regards to a call he made, the refs boss might start looking at him and his job could be in jeopardy down the road. Two, giving a ref a lecturing will definitely be in the back of his head the next time there is a questionable call on the ice, he is more likely to make (or not make) a call that favors the team that bitched at him earlier because he doesn't want to receive that kind of attention again. I know that keeping your mouth shut is the mature thing to do - i agree its what most of us would do, but this is a business, and you are the bench boss. Your are the face of the franchise for this 60 mins. The team, the players, the employees, and most importantly the fans are all counting on the coach to speak for them. If you are just a quiet pushover behind the bench with no balls, the refs will walk all over you because they know you aren't going to complain about anything. Look at John Tortorella's emotion every night. That is just my 2 cents.
Reffing can be really stressful. I feel bad for refs a lot of the time because they aren't perfect, nobody is. You are hated around the league because you are the police lol haha
A whole other subject is a make up call. What are your guys thoughts on that?

The refs can easily call an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and fuck the team over even more.

Like a bench minor? Ya true. You're allowed to share your opinion on the call but calling the ref a name will def get ur team 2 mins.

That's brutal news for the Canucks RT @VanCanucks: Media Release: Malhotra will not return to the #Canucks lineup for the remainder of this regular season and playoffs: http://bit.ly/fSfmZh | Fuuuuuuuck.
hopefully things get better for Manny. I had a detached retina last year and my vision in that eye still hasn't returned to 100% yet, its a long process with any eye injury/surgery and Manny's looked a lot worse than a detached retina.

I really hope Malhotra is going to be okay for his day to day life after he recovers. Playing in the NHL should be second right now.

What bad news. I was holding out on worrying about it til there was definite prognosis after the swelling went down.
Might be a bit of a bright side to it though (in lemons -> lemonade sense). Now that we know where we stand as far as Manny not coming back, the adversity will drive the boys to be that much better and push that much harder. More pressure will be put on the guys who need to pick it up and the team won't have a chance for complacency.

Manny's health should be put first here, unfortunate for his loss but I hope he gets at least 80% of his vision back

damn...Manny would have played an integral role for the Nux during the playoffs.
I hope Lapierre will fill in. But he wont be the same. The PK and faceoffs will be key.
