Losing Raymond isn't that big of an issue. We got young up and comers like Hodgson, Shirikov, Grabner, Shroeder who can take his spot.
Our glaring weakness last year was our D core especially in the playoffs.
If we don't address our needs then we'll make playoffs next year but we also get bounced in 1st or 2nd round.

Yeah, but Raymond already turned out to be the player we're looking for in Shirokov & Shroeder.

(Hodgon is a center I beleive and Grabs is gone).

It's not a matter of if but when he deals him. Bieksa needs to go. He is one of the few players that we can easily move and get good return on. Salo is another one but he has a NTC and his glass frame will turn some GMs off.

8.8M cap hit for 17 years... that would be career suicide for anyone to make that decision.

No kidding! Very few players even have 17 year careers - let alone a 17 year contract...

I don't know about that, Northern Jersey, the Alpine area is one of the most affluent areas in the US. A lot of the Flyers and Rangers players actually reside in that area of Jersey since its a short drive to Philly and Manhattan.

I think everyone just automatically think of the Jersey Shore shithole made popular by MTV when thinking New Jersey.
