Teemu plays like he's still in his prime

Not really racist! 03-28-2011 09:22 PM

Selanne... 5 point night.. hat trick..

BEAST

Soundy 03-28-2011 09:28 PM

Against the 29th-place team... woo, what's next, stealing old ladies' purses?

sonick 03-28-2011 09:29 PM

HOW IS TEEMU SELANNE STILL SO F'N GOOD? Amazing. Like, Charlie Sheen drinking TigerBlood in the front seat whilst somehow simultaneously sitting in the backseat on a Friday while a fat kid body-slams his bully on the sidewalk amazing.

Soundy 03-28-2011 09:31 PM

Neat: top four teams in the east have clinched playoff berths... Canucks are STILL the only western team to have clinched a spot AT ALL (Detroit and San Jose could still mathematically be eliminated), and they're one point shy of winning the whole conference.

It helps when he basically had his knee reconstructed during the lockout.

Nah, he's too busy admiring his Stanley Cup ring. Yeah Colorado stinks but show me another 40 year old who can do that?

aaaa322 03-28-2011 10:09 PM

To be honest I hope we face anyone other than the ducks in the playoffs. They're a scary team right now.

spoon.ek9 03-28-2011 10:22 PM

enough with the 1st round jitters you guys. if we can't beat a 1st round opponent (WHOEVER it is), we don't deserve to win the cup.

Not really racist! 03-28-2011 10:23 PM

Lidstrom had a milestone night tonight.

Not really racist! 03-28-2011 10:44 PM

To make matters worse for the lames.. they can only clinch a playoff spot if they have a point up on 9th cause they have the least number of wins excluding shootouts, so a tie in the standings would not help, their 9 wins in the S/O is impressive though.

if we can't beat a 2nd, 3rd or 4th round opponent, we don't deserve to win the cup either ...

if we don't win 16 games in the playoffs, we don't deserve to win the cup! :fullofwin:

Its agreed by many that Teemu benefit the most from the LOCKOUT whether he likes it or not. It was 100% focus on rehabing that knee. The few years leading up to the lockout, he was crap. Now look at him. The Finnish Flash is one of the TRUE CLUTCH PERFORMERS in the NHL today.

oh and those who have questioned my take on Perry, I said it at the beginning of the season, judging from his Olympic performance, I expected him to come through, many doubted me. Now look, Perry is slightly mentioned in HART talks...but to fantasy geeks like myself, THE BEST RW to have right ahead of St.Louis

Wether he likes it or not? Dude you don't make any sense. Why would he not like having an entire year to heal his knee up, so he can come back, show the NHL who's boss and win a Stanley Cup?

And no disrespect, but do you want a round of applause for predicting Corey Perry would rip it up? Of course he was going to, he's an elite player! He should also be more than slightly mentioned when it comes to the Hart Trophy...The guy leads the league in goals right now, and also leads the league in third period and third period plus overtime goals. My boys wouldn't be where they are in the standings without him, the same can't be said for Daniel Sedin...

DanHibiki 03-29-2011 01:05 AM

^just curious, are you from anaheim working in vancouver or something?

What's the story behind you being a ducks fan?

Ronin 03-29-2011 01:40 AM

Selanne is awesome...but Lidstrom is the best old dude in the NHL this year. Fucking 60 points from the blueline and he's 40...or 41, I forget.

Line that man up for another Norris.

He is, however, in danger of having his first minus season ever. He's a career +431 and the worst he's ever been is +7 in his sophomore year. He's been +40 FOUR times!

Without a doubt the best defenseman to play the game since...well, maybe ever? Bourque has all the records, Bobby Orr was superhuman and had he played 20 years, he would be by far the best ever...but Lidstrom deserves to be in the conversation with those two.

should have been more clear. Like it or not as in to be playing hockey injured or not.

and yes. many predicted perry wouldnt perform like the way he is right now. I can see what Perry is doing, its a fine job he's done. Same can be said for Daniel, he leads the league in opening goals right now and PPG. Perry is tied for Danny for GWG as well. btw..Ilya Kovalchuk is leading the OTG catagory...

Sadly, As valuable as Perry is, if he stops taking some dumb retaliation penalties, i can see him doing better. no joke
