Schnides needs to play in at least 25 games to get his name on the jennings trophy if the canucks win it, so they're putting him in for a few seconds to get him there.

i dont even feel like watching the games until the playoff starts :s

kluk 04-05-2011 07:41 PM

i just wanna see canucks beat the flames on saturday.

Bonjour43MA 04-05-2011 07:42 PM

hmmm this can't be good for the team... I know we have nothing to play for other than some stats, but losing 2 games straight to the WORST team in the league is definitely not something you want to have going into the playoffs.

They better win the last 2 games or they may be carrying some of this slump into the playoffs, which won't end well at all.

jaguar604 04-05-2011 07:51 PM

If anything this is the perfect wake up call going into the playoffs. The team is mature and won't take this lightly.

boost trade value as well

"the jennings trophy winner, cory schnieder and _____ + ______ has been traded to the colorado avalanche for the 2nd overall pick"

punkwax 04-05-2011 08:03 PM

^ that's a trade I wouldn't make.

Schneider is viable trade bait for a young, proven, up and coming star in my opinion. Especially if he's packaged with others. I think I'd rather see us trade proven asset for proven asset rather than take a chance in the draft.

Hondaracer 04-05-2011 08:07 PM

there's two ways to look at this, which one i prefer i dunno

we could be

A) Going into the playoffs sweeping these last 4 games, perhaps over confident and get slapped with a wake up call in the first game of the playoffs

B) Slump in the last 4, hopefully find some consistancy/motivation in the last two games, and build on that

dont really know which is preferred

punkwax 04-05-2011 08:21 PM

We've lost 2 in a row, let's win the last 2 and head into the playoffs on a high.

I'm at the next game, section 109 to see the Presidents Trophy being awarded. :fullofwin:

Hopefully so. Everybody seemed :fullofwin: in the post game interviews last game. I was thinking, yeah, whatever, just one game. They'll show the Oilers who's boss next game...

They just pissed away another game.
I am disappoint.

Spidey 04-05-2011 08:50 PM

It isn't like they folded... They played well for most of the second half of the game.. I mean shit, if Kesler got that wide open net he missed, it would be a totally different story. But you could tell guys weren't going into the corners and forechecker really hard.. you don't want what happened to Brouwer to happen to, say, Kesler.

last year they had injuries to burrows and kesler.. guys that usually dig really deep every game... You have to think that's in the back of their minds

trancehead 04-05-2011 08:55 PM

was listening to the Team1040 yesterday...and they talked about teams that are mature enough to have an on/off switch. then they talked about how detroit has been doing it for years. They sent Lidstrom down to Florida for a couple of days to chill.

Hopefully this is a case of our off switch? The core guys this year are definitely more mature and its has been shown throughout the season. Just hope that switch doesnt get stuck.
