Not the fans I know. There's a dislike of the Flames for sure, but there's also respect.

Agreed. I remember getting into quite a debate with some coworkers back when The lames made the Cup final and quite a few people were cheering them on to win because they were a team from Canada. I refused to cheer or hope they would win. I simply explained I'm a Canucks fan and I will not cheer for any other team even if they were a Canadian Team. I will gladly cheer for Canada when it's the Olympics, World Juniors etc but this is the NHL.

If i was edmonton id ship off any players that wont be part of there future for 1st , 2nd picks or prospects. And hopefully for there when eberle, hall n parvjavi become stars they'll have a strong young team. Cause 6-7 years from now they'll want out, so there window of winning is much shorter than alot of the other teams

;LOLOLOLOLOL.. The guy probably got a shit kicking in the parking lot... PICH asian hockey style hahaha.. but ya that is the stupidest thing I have seen in rec hockey. But the funny thing was that the guy that got hit just looked at him and didn't do anything while the guy had the stick above his head like a lumberjack

Ronin 04-06-2011 01:35 PM

I've seen bench clearing brawls in PICH and Coast...but I've never seen someone overhead two hand slash someone right in the head.

The past three weeks have been a very emotional time for myself and my family. I owe a great deal of thanks to a number of people. First and foremost my wife Joann who has been a pillar of strength for me and kept me focused on the best possible outcome at all times. Thank you to my teammates, coaches and training staff, your care and concern has meant a great deal to me. The Aquilini family, Mike Gillis and Laurence Gilman have made my recovery a priority; I have received the best possible medical care throughout this entire process. It is truly a blessing to be part of an organization with such quality, caring people and I can't thank them enough.

The NHL is a tight-knit community. I would like to thank all the players, coaches and GM's around the league, some I've never even had the chance to meet, who extended their regards and best wishes for a speedy recovery. My most heartfelt and sincere thank you to all of the incredible fans in Vancouver and around the league for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. Your messages were a daily reminder of what a privilege it is to play for you.

I will forever be grateful to the incredible group of surgeons both in Vancouver and New York who performed two successful surgeries, to restore the vision in my eye. Although there is a lot of recovery and healing to take place, I am very optimistic for a good outcome. Thank you to my agent and good friend Paul Krepelka for being with me through surgery and recovery in New York. Your friendship over the years has been invaluable.

My family and I are very grateful for the patience, concern and privacy we've been shown by the media and thank you for your continued support.

This is the dumbest fight ever. Everyone is still holding their sticks, no gloves are dropped.

Seems like low tier hockey with shitty skaters and dirty players.

AzNightmare 04-06-2011 02:13 PM

Screw cheering for another team. In past seasons, when Canucks got eliminated, my hockey season was over.
The only time I even watch other games is if I'm involved in some pool, but even then, checking nhl.com for stats is more efficient.

Overhand axe chop on the guy's shoudler?? Longest wind up ever.
Seems so funny how the guy just got back up like it didn't hurt at all.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Edler was such a monster for us last year against LA. I'm looking forward to him coming back and becoming that monster again next week

Ch28 04-06-2011 03:21 PM

^ There could be a potential 3 team lock @ 95 points depending on how the Ana/LA, Dal/Col & Chi/Det back to back games go
