I need Selanne to get more pts, but I want Ducks to lose. haha Not only because I got Selanne in my pool, but when Selanne gets a lot of points, that means Perry and his line doesn't really produce as much. |
Unless it's pts on the PP then Perry might get points that way. |
selanne 30th goal of the season feelsbad for winnipeg jets fans |

But I think most Canuck fans are actually more excited about Perry not catching up to Daniel, so the missed empty nets are amusing. :fullofwin: Congrats btw. Guess Dallas is out now. |

Actually I'm wrong. Dallas can still take over Phoenix or Chicago. (Probably unlikely though) But Dallas has to win their last game. And Phoenix (2 games left) and Chicago (1 game left), have to lose the rest of their games in regulation time. Ducks are in for sure though. Canuck fans are just being greedy. We want the stats and the cup! |
Let's hope Chugggcago loses Sunday and Dallas wins their last game :fuckyea: |
I 100% agree with the puck daddy article. Perry is great, but stats like his +/- and pim hurts his cause. Stat columns mean one thing. But it comes down to heart. The way Daniel proved his worth by being consistent already is a big factor. Pekka rinne is great too. The team can't buy a goal, but he kept them in the playoff hunt all year long. Tim Thomas is great, but what he's done all year is more vezina worthy. St.Louis comes to mind. But similar to corey perrys case. He's been great all year as well, but he stepped up big time in absence of stamkos no show |
The Coyotes won tonight (99 pts) so Dallas won't be able to catch them, Chicago is their only hope. |

I do agree with you there, I just feel Perry deserves it more. Yeah I have a slight bias, but I'm going on what Perry has done and when he's done it. |
how can dallas still get in if chicago loses to DET and dallas beating COL. Both teams will be tied with 97 pts but Chicago will have 44 wins and Dallas will have 43. Same goes with NYR and carolina. Both tied at standings but carolina with fewer win is ahead of NYR? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/standings/ |

(which is why I thought they also had two games left). Quote:
Shootout wins are excluded. Dallas will have the same pts and ROW if Chicago loses and Dallas wins. Dallas probably has the seaon head to head series over Chicago... the third tiebreaker. TSN doesn't show the ROW. But http://www.nhl.com/ice/standings.htm...02011&type=CON has the ROW category. Chicago has to lose in regulation, and Dallas has to win before shootout (to get that ROW). This is when you might get a chance to see some funny stuff... like Dallas pulling their goalie for an extra attacker during Overtime, if it happens. I remember Canucks did that but still failed in one of the seasons they missed the playoffs. I wonder how it feels to be a :troll:... when one team has nothing left to play for, and the other team is desperate enough to pull their goalie in OT. |

^ It's funny how Tim Thomas doesn't get nearly as many starts as the other goalies up there in the categories. Not to take anything away from Thomas, but fewer games help him preserve his stats a bit easier. |
So assuming Chicago loses in regulation and Dallas wins in regulation OR overtime (but not a shootout), they will both have 97 points, and 38 ROW. They've played each other 4 times: Dallas 3 Chicago 5 Dallas 4 Chicago 2 Chicago 3 Dallas 4 SO Chicago 0 Dallas 5 Giving Dallas a record of 3-1-0 and Chicago at 1-2-1 Therefore, Dallas gets #8? So complicated... |
