I need Selanne to get more pts, but I want Ducks to lose. haha

Not only because I got Selanne in my pool, but when Selanne gets a lot of points, that means Perry and his line doesn't really produce as much.

!Nhan 04-08-2011 07:49 PM

Unless it's pts on the PP then Perry might get points that way.

shawn79 04-08-2011 07:52 PM

it would be pekka rinne

dbaz 04-08-2011 08:37 PM

lol, true, we didn't want the ducks to get into the playoffs.

But I think most Canuck fans are actually more excited about Perry not catching up to Daniel, so the missed empty nets are amusing. :fullofwin:

Congrats btw.
Guess Dallas is out now.

I don't know if anybody was every really stupid enough to think that Anaheim would actually miss the playoffs with the way they're playing. It's always just hope.... I would never bet on it.

Woooo!!! GWG by Selanne. No points for Getzlaf or Perry. Getzlaf didn't even get a shot on goal. Yay for my pool!!

Not really racist! 04-08-2011 08:41 PM

Nearly 30 mins of ice time for Perry... wow

Meh, individual stats are cool and all, but in the end only one trophy matters! Oh yeah, Dallas is done... Which is sweet because their last 3 games are/have been a cakewalk.

Give Major League Lettering a shout, they do great work and it's pretty cheap. Only downside is you have to ship it to them in Ontario.

AzNightmare 04-08-2011 08:47 PM

Actually I'm wrong. Dallas can still take over Phoenix or Chicago. (Probably unlikely though)
But Dallas has to win their last game. And Phoenix (2 games left) and Chicago (1 game left), have to lose the rest of their games in regulation time.

Ducks are in for sure though.

Canuck fans are just being greedy. We want the stats and the cup!

Euro7r 04-08-2011 08:59 PM

Let's hope Chugggcago loses Sunday and Dallas wins their last game :fuckyea:

Tim Budong 04-08-2011 08:59 PM

I 100% agree with the puck daddy article. Perry is great, but stats like his +/- and pim hurts his cause. Stat columns mean one thing. But it comes down to heart. The way Daniel proved his worth by being consistent already is a big factor.

Pekka rinne is great too. The team can't buy a goal, but he kept them in the playoff hunt all year long.

Tim Thomas is great, but what he's done all year is more vezina worthy.

St.Louis comes to mind. But similar to corey perrys case. He's been great all year as well, but he stepped up big time in absence of stamkos no show

clowe 04-08-2011 09:00 PM

The Coyotes won tonight (99 pts) so Dallas won't be able to catch them, Chicago is their only hope.

So the Hart comes down to heart? :troll:

I do agree with you there, I just feel Perry deserves it more. Yeah I have a slight bias, but I'm going on what Perry has done and when he's done it.

shawn79 04-08-2011 09:23 PM

how can dallas still get in if chicago loses to DET and dallas beating COL. Both teams will be tied with 97 pts but Chicago will have 44 wins and Dallas will have 43.

Same goes with NYR and carolina. Both tied at standings but carolina with fewer win is ahead of NYR?

Oh yeah, my bad. NHL didn't update at the time of my post and still had Coyotes at 97 pts
(which is why I thought they also had two games left).

The 2nd tiebreaker isn't "Wins" anymore. It's "ROW" (regulation/overtime wins).
Shootout wins are excluded. Dallas will have the same pts and ROW if Chicago loses and Dallas wins.
Dallas probably has the seaon head to head series over Chicago... the third tiebreaker.

TSN doesn't show the ROW. But http://www.nhl.com/ice/standings.htm...02011&type=CON has the ROW category.

Chicago has to lose in regulation, and Dallas has to win before shootout (to get that ROW).
This is when you might get a chance to see some funny stuff... like Dallas pulling their goalie for an extra attacker during Overtime, if it happens.

I remember Canucks did that but still failed in one of the seasons they missed the playoffs.

I wonder how it feels to be a :troll:... when one team has nothing left to play for, and the other team is desperate enough to pull their goalie in OT.

I will be ok if Perry wins. I won't be ok if Tim Thomas wins.

AzNightmare 04-08-2011 09:41 PM

^ It's funny how Tim Thomas doesn't get nearly as many starts as the other goalies up there in the categories.
Not to take anything away from Thomas, but fewer games help him preserve his stats a bit easier.

Gumby 04-08-2011 09:43 PM

So assuming Chicago loses in regulation and Dallas wins in regulation OR overtime (but not a shootout), they will both have 97 points, and 38 ROW.

They've played each other 4 times:
Dallas 3 Chicago 5
Dallas 4 Chicago 2
Chicago 3 Dallas 4 SO
Chicago 0 Dallas 5

Giving Dallas a record of 3-1-0 and Chicago at 1-2-1

Therefore, Dallas gets #8?

So complicated...
