And sad thing is that phaneuf hit would probably be considered a headshot/elbow nowadays.....as well as all the stevens hits obviously

I can't remember if it was Bert or someone else but MacInnis got taken out with a big hit as well and didn't return.

kind of weird but would be cool to see it rolling around on the streets

"NBC Sports and VERSUS has converted a Zamboni onto an ice cream truck for the playoffs; the plan is to have it show up with short notice at playoff games during the first round; handing out free ice cream (this man will handle the free candy) with the help of "a local NHL legend," and aren't we all curious to see what qualifies as a "legend" these days."

i really wish malhotra could have been part of our playoffs this year; really makes me a little depressed :(

I think you and I were amongst the very few who stuck up for Gillis when he first got hired. Not many people had confidence in his abilities.

I'm a little worried that the Canucks may not have the toughness needed to go all the way - both physically and mentally. Only time will tell. I hope they stay healthy. I remember Linden playing with cracked ribs, bleeding, and downright beat up, but he continued to play his heart out. Kesler is like that, but how many others have that kind of toughness? All the stats, trophies, and awards in the regular season mean nothing in the playoffs. First place, eighth place......... doesn't mean dick. Every team is going to step it up............. so nervous now. Fuck, I hope the Canucks blow out the blackhawks in game one.

What did he do I forgot

i agree on the toughness part but our mental strength is a LOT better this year. also, others have pointed out that detroit has minimal toughness as well and have won several cups (as we all know). i have a lot of confidence in this year's squad over last year's for sure. our defense and goaltending are excellent, our top 2 lines are a force to be dealt with and the 3rd and 4th line have been able to contribute (better with manny of course) significantly more than last year.

now, i know as the long time fan you are, you (and many of us) are approaching this with cautious optimism. but you have to admit, you like our chances :D

EmperorIS 04-11-2011 11:35 PM

wonder where manny is gonna be :(
i wish he gets in a suit and stand behind the players bench during the game <3

I'm guessing he'll be with Gillis most games.
is there a rule regarding LTIR plays being able to stand behind the bench?

I do like our chances, but like you said, I've seen things crumble down like a tonne of bricks before my eyes, leaving me to wonder what the hell happened.
