lol would be hilarious if this blows up in their face and the mediators rule in favour of the NHLPA and then NJD, Lamoriello and the NHL are stuck with this gigantic ridiculous contract. |

Great deal by Gillis. $2.6m is what Raymond should be paid. I expected a $3m deal but that would be borderline. I imagine this deal is Gillis reasoning with Raymond, telling him that the Canucks would probably walk away from a $4m deal if they get a retarded arbitration deal and he'd end up in some shitty team like the Flames or something where he'd have to play with talentless, overpaid bums like Jokinen. Raymond will still be a RFA at the end of this deal but I think he realizes that he's only been good for one season. This deal is a good raise and Gillis is probably telling him to play hard and if he puts up another two 50+ point seasons, then we can talk about $3.5+ when this deal is up. Look at Kesler. Everyone was pissed when he got $1.9m for doing basically nothing...he takes a cheaper deal when that contract is up and proves he was worth it all along with his play. Now he's got $5m a year. |

im happy about this signing ^^ |
me too...now i can say that grabner with the 1st (along with bernier)being traded was better that sending raymond that way... at the end of the day it was the whole scope of the canucks organization that sold raymond and not just the money... |
I just drove by Renfrew & Hasting.. looks like Canucks team store are opening a outlet store there :D They put up a banner outside of the store and looks like the place is under renovation right now def gonna check it out once its open |

Ecstatic Raymond signed a 2 year contract with that cap hit. I was expecting the worst and guessed he'd get at least 3.5+. Gillis is doing a great job with this team and I cannot wait for the season to start. |
Great deal! 2.55 cap hit is awesome! we're in a good position. :D |

if 'canucks' fans like you(70% of this thread), were actually very knowledgeable on how deals work and contract prices in the NHL, I probably wouldnt harp on you. but when uneducated fools, start talking like they think they know hockey, it just makes you look foolish. I guess your okay with that though. like i said, most the people in this thread are 16 years old...have never played hockey in their life and decided to start watching it so their fathers will love them, but still have no idea what boarding penalty is. |
^ do you really think the majority of ppl in this thread are 16 years old? I'd say more like 25-35 |
Rangers sign Alexander Frolov to 1 year- 3Million contract. Pretty good deal if you ask me.. could turn out to be a bargain for them. |
