You know the hawks are desperate now.

Guy is huge but can't skate or have any real skill.

John Scott is in for Chicago tonight and hes talking some smack. Here are a few tweets about it.

#Scott says he will challenge #Canucks & "hopes they oblige". Has a history from when he was in Minny & thinks they may remember. Desperate

Scott:"I’ve beat up a couple of their guys.I think its in the back of their heads hopefully. If I can get someone to go tonight I’ll be happy

This is bieksa's response is....
#Bieksa "what do you do when a 6-8 guy who can't skate challenges you? You say no, go around him & score". #Canucks #3venge

Good news for the Canucks: John Scott is playing and Dave Bolland is not
Quote:

Unless he has a blindfold or a pocket full of sand – like any old-school self-respecting wrastler would carry – there isn't a whole lot six-foot-eight extra John Scott can do to help the Chicago Blackhawks tonight.

Scott, a healthy scratch in two playoff losses to the Vancouver Canucks, said he plans to take away goalie Roberto Luongo's eyes tonight in Game 3 of the first-round National Hockey League series.

The Blackhawks haven't missed Scott; they've missed two-way centre Dave Bolland, who will sit out his 17th game straight game due to a concussion but hopes to be able to play in Game 4 on Tuesday.

By then it could be too late.

While the Blackhawks' diminished depth was obvious in Vancouver, Bolland is the Chicago player not playing who could make the biggest difference in this series. Bolland's abrasiveness and two-way game are precisely what the Blackhawks have lacked. Having Scott lumber around the ice in search of a fight probably isn't going to change anything.

“It's probably the worst feeling ever: watching your team play and you can't,” Bolland said after taking Chicago's morning skate. “You do take it in the heart. But the head is winning the battle. If it was a shoulder or something else, it's different story. Those [parts] you can replace.”

Bolland's absence was keenly noticeable in Game 2 when Daniel Sedin, the NHL scoring champion who was driven to distraction and penalties by Bolland last playoffs, had two goals and an assist in Vancouver's 4-3 win. Henrik Sedin had one assist.

“It kills you,” Bolland said of the Sedins' success. “From what happened last year and the previous years, playing against them is always fun. And seeing them do that [in Game 2] doesn't really put a smile on my face.”

It's obvious in this case, it's BECAUSE he had a shit load of stiches on his face. He didn't do it in spite of it. He did it BECAUSE of it.

AzNightmare 04-17-2011 12:14 PM

I thought they called up John Scott to screen Luongo, since they don't have Byfuglien this year.

fliptuner 04-17-2011 12:19 PM

I'd love to see him get the ass end of a Ballardian hip check.

Tim Budong 04-17-2011 12:21 PM

The real question is how many minutes will John Scott get before Quenneville benches him for good.

That dude is a monster. I think it's a good thing we don't have anyone that can match up with him fight wise. Just ignore the beast and skate circles around him.

A Canucks fan, a Flames fan, & a Blackhawks fan are climbing a mountain & arguing about who loves their team more. The Flames fan insists he is the most loyal. ''This is for the Flames!", he yells, & jumps off the mountain. Not to be outdone, the Canucks fan is next to profess his love for his team. He yells "This is for the Canucks!!!" & pushes the Blackhawks fan off the mountain. GO CANUCKS GO!!
