but these were my idols when i was younger with autographed posters of them all over my walls...plus my linden signed laser skate jersey, which is still hidden in my closet somewhere
despite being a leaf fan Linden and Bure were some of my favourite players and even had posters of them on my walls. for the first few years I went with #16 in hockey because of Linden and Hull but I had to switch to #8. the jerseys got smaller as the numbers got bigger and this small kid looked goofy with his large on and mine was a little snug. I stuck with #8 for Mark Recchi after that.
Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

I feel really sorry for those of you who never had the chance to listen to Jim Robson call play-by-play. I'm not saying this because I'm getting nostalgic about '94; he was really that good. His voice was pitch-perfect (deep enough, but also capable of getting you excited) and back in the days when radio was often the only option, he was really able to paint of picture of what was going on.
John Shorthouse is decent, but I feel that his calling has regressed since he's made the move to TV. Gord Miller is terrible, Mark Lee should have stuck to football, and Cuthbert's voice can sometimes get annoying. Hughson is enthusiastic, but he is a little too "Hollywood" for my liking. Bob Cole was actually pretty good up until the late 90s, but clearly, he can no longer follow the play or read any names.
Back in the 90's, only a handful of canuck games were televised and there was no such thing as pay per view, it was either goto the game live or listen on the radio.
Jim Robson and Tom Larscheid really did captivate the audience, Robson always painted the perfect picture and Tommy always told it how it is. Yes, he was a bit too homerish, but no one doubted his love for the nucks.
Who would of thunk, kids, teenagers, adults, listening to Radio? Well I personally thank Robson and Larscheid for that wonderful experience.
One of the great calls by Robson, there's also a great clip of Larsheid, but can't find it where after Bure's goal, he jumps up and screams, "this is the best moment in canucks history"
