also im kinda getting sick of the majority of the CBC guys being in the leagues pocket, imo generally Mclean is typically more neutral than the other bozo's
I lost a lot of respect for Mclean for his biased attack on Burrows.

So you saying pointing Mason Raymond on the point for the power play is better than putting Ballard? Who has more power play point experience in this case? Not Raymond.
I use Raymond as an example in this case because that is exactly what AV did during the lowest point of our d-men injuries. Hell he even put Rome on over Ballard.
And Salo is on the 3rd line pairing so what's your point. Neither are 3rd line players.
Checking the TOI stats, he didn't play the last 5minutes. I feel comfortable if they rolled all 6 d-men instead of 5 but whatever. In my opinion, if they are gonna play him so little they might as well trade him and play Rome (who's been solid). No point tying up 4.2 mil on a 6th man d who plays so little.
Well good thing you aren't the canucks coach. Ballard was acquired for depth... which the canucks have now. And they showed that the trades and acquisitions were all justified, with all the injuries that they have had.
On the PP I would rather have one forward on the point. It isn't breaking news that forwards have been used on the point on PP's. Most teams do this.
As for trading Ballard, he probably will be in the off season, but there is no point crying about it now. He was acquired for defensive depth. Same as Schneider.. he knows his role. just because his numbers are insane, doesn't mean that he and Lu should split time in the playoffs.
Last 5 minutes, I wouldn't have put Ballard on as well. Edler, Hamhuis, Bieksa, Ehrhoff, and Salo all have playoff and clutch experience. Ballard hasn't been bad but he hasn't been exceptional. Just because he is making 4 mill ion doesn't justify ice time. Your performance justifies it. I can almost guarantee, like I pointed out earlier, that giveaway in the 2nd period when the game was tied pretty much decided his fate in the 3rd period. In the playoffs, if you make a mistake, the coach will take note and you will sit on the bench.

It's nothing new to use a forward on the pp but in the case of Raymond, he was used as a last ditch effort with the pp capable d-men injured (overlooking Ballard of course).
You may be right about this one (the part I bolded).
Torres took 2 penalties and was benched in the 3rd. Oreskovich, despite a solid game, was benched for the penalty he took.
Anyways my gripe is Ballard being underused. I was looking forward to seeing his offensive skills ever since we acquired him. I thought for sure we'd see more of him especially on special teams when we had d-men dropping like fly but nope.
But anyways, I'm glad we have him even if he is our 6th dman. When Manny went down, the one thing keeping me still confident was the fact that our defence is deep and solid.

Other players who get dummied like Seabrook should be talked to by the league to KEEP YOUR FUCKING HEAD UP. The victim needs to take responsibility. In the vid, you can hear someone scream "head up" just before Seabrook gets clobbered.
