the goaltending in the phi/buf series has been terrible
Miller is having an off year, so im not surprised. Philly has no goaltending period. Chris Pronger will help, if he even gets to play this year, but by how much? who knows.
Its why I don't think PHI will go far, Pronger can take them only so far

It was a clean hit........... NHL finally did something right. Take hitting out of the game and it becomes "fairies on ice." Not only that, this is the playoffs.

Cuz they toyed with our Nucks in the 70s like we were nothing. They would spot us 4 or 5 goals through two periods and then smoke us in the 3rd. I still remember those games...
Funny how a year changes things... a year ago, Torres' hit would be labelled 'series defining' and most fans would be celebrating it.
Personally [and I'm biased here having played as a d-man for 25 years] I have issue with open season on d-men in behind the net.. injuries on defensemen are way up since obstruction was removed as forecheckers obviously get in their way easier now. In my opinion, that trapezoid area should also be a zone where you HAVE to make a play for the puck first and not be able to just wipe out a guy who's trying to pick a puck off the end boards.
For any of you who've tried it, it's difficult to pick up the puck in the position Seabrook was in last night - it's coming around the boards fast, tight against that bottom panel so you have to pick it with the toe of your stick.. compound that with you're hearing the footsteps of the guy behind you who you THINK is Torres.. and SPLAT.
^Well someone told Seabrook headsup before the hit was coming. Plus on a play like that the only play u have is to chip it off the boards, or to take the hit. Seabrook did all the wrong things and tried to take posession of the puck and he did it with his head down.
I don't get Kunitz's elbow. Some elbows are cause they were extending their arm too much trying to get a hit in. But in this case it is definitely straight to the head. What was he thinking. Did he think he could get away with it? Posted via RS Mobile
Appearently Mike Milbury called Torres a "useless piece of garbage" in response to the hit.
Fuck Mike Milbury.
His credibility is zilch. He once HIT A SPECTATOR WITH HIS OWN SHOE. Are you seriously suggesting that Torres' hit, which was a hockey play, is worse than HITTING A SPECTATOR WITH HIS OWN SHOE!? If Torres' mostly clean hit makes him useless garbage, what does that say about Milbury?
Plus he's pretty much the worst GM in the history of the NHL. Yes, Jokinen and Luongo to Florida for Mark Parrish and Oleg Kvasha?
Don't worry though, at least he got Alexei Yashin for Bill Muckalt, Zdeno Chara and the first rounder that would be Jason Spezza.
Bertuzzi, McCabe and a 3rd rounder (would be Ruutu) for Linden?
Any time he's on screen, I just ignore it because anything he says is overshadowed by the fact that he's made some of the worst deals in NHL history so his expertise is useless.
