If Nashville would give up Barry Trotz, I'd love to have that guy as our coach.

the ref didnt help the canucks lose.. if you see the posted image of the penalties that were called on either side, it was pretty even..
also, the canucks did not show up.. whether or not the refs had anything to do with the penalties or not, the canucks didn't deserve to win. this thrashing is a blessing in disguise.. remember the last time the canucks got shelled by chicago??? they went on an absolute TEAR!

Yeah, too many people whining about phantom calls. Unless it was as bad as the Auger/Burrows incident,
we're just looking for excuses to cover up Canucks' pitiful effort. Quote:

The 6th goal wasn't necessary before Lu got the yank.
The no Timeout was also a bad move after the two quick goals.
By the way the Canucks played in comparison to the Blackhawks,
probably wouldn't have made a difference... but the TO would have just
been a good coaching move in general.
Most Timeouts are never used in a game. I don't see why not use them.
Often, the coaches are saving it for "just in case" later in the game. But if they aren't
used at a crucial time earlier (or whenever fit) in the game, it might be too late by the
time the coach is "ready" to use it later.

Having brad richards is obviously a fantasy choice but hes a former playoff mvp, point per game player and one of the best two way forward in the game.
Losing salo(3.5) torres (1.0) UFA, trade raymond (2.6) plus salary cap is up 2.6 mill?
ballard and rome are good enough to step up the bottom pairing in our defence

NHL players don't get paid much for playoff games. ie. ($50K for losing 1st round team, split amongst the team, paid by league). So for incentive, wouldn't owners want their team to play more home games? contracts are only for 82 games of regular season, with bonuses for home-games played during playoffs?
If that's the case, there is tremendous incentive to extend the series for the benefit of the players, as well as for the owners.
I don't know... just saying. they really didnt' show up last night. but perhaps that is consciously or sub-conciously done... It's unlikely Canucks will lose 4 in a row. so why not throw one to get paid?

Maybe you're just asking a "matter of fact" question but we're in the middle of a bloody playoff race, up 3-1 in our series. I'm not even remotely considering any failure by the team. A loss here or there - sure - but we, as a team, haven't "collapsed" all season long.
I'll consider the future of the team when our season is over... in June....after the parade. | Like FT said enjoy this. Quote:

Bieksa and Ehroff are obviously going to find a way and a deal that will work for both sides to get resigned, i dont see either wanting to leave Van.

Aquilini and the Canucks will make way more $$$$$$ if they close the series in Vancouver. Thursday night downtown will be nuts and millions of dollars will be spent on booze and whores in celebration.

I still have the image of Sharp celebrating after he scored a goal yesterday. Like c'mon, do you need to celebrate like you've never scored? Fucking Hawks, they score and they celebrate and taunt like shit.

Of course there is pride and trophy on the line. but come on... these guys know it's going to be a long haul to the cup and that they cannot and will not win every single game, as much pride as there is in doing so. So, you have a bad game, take it easier one game (they certainly didn't seem as sharp as first two games or play as hard into corners), or not getting your rhythm for one game, is not going to be that bad, especially when you can close out at home ice in front of home crowd with possible monetary bonuses.
Whatever the case, it doesn't really matter... You cna't complain about more playoff hockey to watch.

Edit: Point I was trying to make, which BlueG2 does a better job of, is that we play sports for fun, whereas for these guys, it's their job.

Think of it this way.. we are all paid at our jobs... All of us can admit that we are guilty of slacking off, some more than others... Hockey players and athletes are just under the microscope. They are human. As much as most of us love hockey, and or whatever sport we love to play, imagine being at the rink 5-6 days a week, and playing a meaningful game 3-4 days a week for 82 games.. THEN to have playoffs, every other day at the intensity that it is.. Money isn't that much of a motivator if your are putting yoru body on the line.. You will tire out fast mentally and physically if you are a pro athlete.
Even with my work, sometimes there is not enough money in the world that will get me to work when it is my day off.
Yes they make much more than most people out there, but still they are human. To have a couple off games here and there is understandable. Those of us who have played sports all know that there are some games where you just can't get into it, and or, your team just does not click.

Bottom line: Last night sucked for Vancouver but overall, things still suck worse for Chicago.
