I guess I will have to resort to that. Called about 6 places and found out that their "network" is not showing the game. So all pubs and bars in HK = no dibs.

Hey try this bar called CHAMPS in hk. My friend owns it and i usually hang out there whenever i go back and they show almost every sport there. Give them a call and ask.

http://www.champsbar.com.hk/

It's somewhere in Wanchai. Last time i went there i took a 10min taxi ride from LKF so it's not too far from Causeway/central area.

This is their TV schedule but call them just in case.

If you want real goaltending analysis: what Chicago's been doing (this and last yr), what Canucks aren't, technical, mental, adjustments, etc, check this out.

Kevin Woodley on Blake Price talking about goaltending - April 22, hour 3

Download it and go to near the end @44:50.

I'm hoping for a better discussion here than
1) point finger
2) you make millions
3) try harder
4) Boucher/Leighton > all
But we'll see..

TRDood 04-23-2011 01:29 AM

Thanks. Gave all of them a call and they either won't be opening at 730am or even if they do it's not on their "network".

Oh well, I will just be streaming it alone at home.

Look at Phoenix. Lovely city, but nobody gives a shit about the team. That's why it failed. Winnipeg WANTS a team. BAD. They'll support it, even if it sucks.

Maybe players need to stop being such fucking prima donnas and worrying about where they live and how much they make, and embrace playing somewhere that they're really appreciated.

And maybe that means getting out and interacting with their fans a little more... not just as signing events and photo ops. One thing that really gets me are those video clips they play in the opening videos, from the early 80s, showing the players walking out the front door of the Coliseum and getting right in a partying with the crowd (and probably get on a transit bus to go home afterward). These days, they just get escorted to their secured underground parking, hop in their X5s and Cayennes, and then go run down pedestrians in crosswalks... er... oops, just kidding :troll:

But you know what I mean. The players have largely been elevated to a level above the common man, and it seems a lot of them have developed the attitude to match... and thus you get guys not wanting to play in places like Edmonton anymore. Well you know what, Edmonton was a shithole in the 80s too, but I bet a lot more players were clamoring to get traded there back then.

Soundy 04-23-2011 07:25 AM

Anyone catch the bit on Global news last night and this morning about Grinders bar in Beijing showing the games and packed with Canucks fans?

Langley native Trevor Metz, 39, a former radio broadcaster in Kamloops and Prince George, is a documentary filmmaker in China who also owns and operates Grinders. Spotting a business opportunity and a chance to connect with those suffering from hockey withdrawal, he has seized the opportunity to turn his establishment into a hockey hot spot whenever the Canucks are in action.

They have every right to worry about where they live, and how much money they make. They are just people doing their jobs. If someone like Ilya Bryzgalov, who moved his family to the US, is forced to move to WINNIPEG MANITOBA to work, he has every right to say no, and go play in the KHL. He might not make as much money or win a stanley cup, but his life will be more enjoyable I think.

Trevor Linden was on 1040 yesterday - any way we can hear his comments for those of us that missed it?
