Is the City Golf/Jetta any good for an entry level car? ^ entry level= cheap, low maintenance, easy on gas, sturdy, maybe for someone who just got their license? |
Yup, but as far as I know, they only make the City Golf now. Plus they've been making that model for many years now, so all of the quirks that plagued the first couple MY's have been fixed many many years ago. It's not quick, but it's safe, well built, and pretty reliable. |
the GTR would be faster. |
the city golf is nasty, the jetta is nicer, but yeah perfect first car. |
I was surprised how much a fully loaded City Golf costs for what is essentially a 2 generation old car... There's better out there for the money. |
^true, like the ford fiesta is dope, if you dont like the ford then the vdub....dont go with fits or yaris or aveos and shit like that |
R8 would be nice. |
^^ the fit isnt a bad car.. its just slightly underpowered. i dare you to say that to the people on fitfreak. on topic.. the city jetta isnt bad.. i wouldnt mind the golf either |
I almost bought a new City Jetta when it first came out. Admittedly it was slightly underpowered (the aging 2L isn't exactly the fastest), but it still retained that very well built quality that the MK4's had and would have been a good platform to do an engine swap later on down the road once the warranty had expired. While there are other cars out there that are cheaper and come equipped with more stuff, the City-series is still probably the most solid and well built car in its class. Plus they look hot lowered on some BBS RC's. :D |
First car/"just got their license". Why buy new? |
