i spent $50 and saved $2 in taxes.
dam you westfair foods marketing department

on top of that i forgot to buy xbox points while there.

Vansterdam 07-29-2011 08:46 AM

^ lol thats usually the only item I get when its tax free

xbox points card FTW

Bought about $50 worth of stuff there the other day and "saved" about $2 in tax. The receipt had 2 numbers.. $51.xx and $53.xx. Apparently the $51.xx was the amount that I should be charged on my Visa according to the cashier. Confirmed it with the lady at the customer service. Check my Visa bill a few days later.. and what do I see? $53.xx. So much for no tax. Could care less about $2 honestly but it's the fact that it's advertised as "tax free" when it really isn't :fuckthatshit:

MG1 11-25-2011 06:01 AM

Yup. I was at Superstore in Coquitlam yesterday afternoon and the signs were up already. I tried to find this thread, but couldn't, so posted in the Black Friday thread instead.

Time to stock up on day to day items and junk food for upcoming Grey Cup party. Woo hoo!!!

JesseBlue 11-25-2011 06:16 AM

i was going to hold up going to ss till this no tax event but eventually they raised the price on the item i was going to purchase...so no real point for this if this is their M.O..

skippynixx 11-25-2011 08:46 AM

Bwahahahaha.......... what a bunch of tools. I guess they just used the e-mail from last time. I got the e-mail just a few minutes ago. Anyway, good eye, for spotting the error.

I'm going there to shop tonight. I'll confirm it with them that it is indeed tomorrow.

Vansterdam 12-02-2011 03:32 PM

"or products from third party buisnesses within our stores"

:suspicious:

Spectre_Cdn 12-02-2011 03:39 PM

^ maybe it's referring to the PC mobile kiosks? They carry Bell, Wind, Koodo etc. at those booths iirc.

12 to 12 then, as in 12:00 Saturday morning until 12:00 midnight Saturday.

And it is confirmed, they will have no tax starting midnight tonight. Nobody is going to be there at that hour, are they?

2damaxmr2 12-02-2011 07:35 PM

Not sure if serious.

MG1 12-02-2011 09:07 PM

Walmart and Superstore are open 24/7 for the holidays/Christmas only. Been this way for a couple of years now.
