i fucking hate stores that advertise 'we pricematch' then are bitches about it. different products i understand not pricematching, but same product?

they need to be more liek christine magee and pricematch anything and everything!

Haha no kidding, I bought my king bed set at Sleep Country on sale. They told me they would price match anything similar. I was walking by the Bay once during a big sale, and found something "similar" that was ~$200 cheaper than the sale price at Sleep Country. All I had was my crappy cellphone, so I took a picture of the pricetag and the general description of the bed. Took it back to Sleep Country and they pricematched based just based on cellphone pic, no question asked.

They have good weekly sales. Some weeks, it's OK, but once in a while their sale prices are fantstic.

Last week, for example, Lean Cuisine frozen single dinners $4.99 at Safeway, Save On Foods, etc. was on sale for $1.00 at No Frills. Delissio Rising Crust Deluxe Pizza at Safeway is $9.99 for a single large size. At No Frills, it is $6.97 for TWO!

I love their $1.00 Sale or their Half Price sale. Happens twice or three times a year (alternating = 4 to 6 times a year).

As for service. They really live up to their name - No Frills. They don't have a pharmacy or a optometry department, etc. The service itself, as in interaction with customers, however, is very good. Nice friendly people. At least the one in Coquitlam has that kind of atmosphere. The produce is always fresh there and the place is kept very clean. Milk and egg prices are the lowest anywhere, and on a daily basis.

I've been to the No Frills on Broadway where Office Depot used to be. Prices there are a little higher than at Coquitlam, but same cleanliness.

I go to Safeway early in the morning to get their reduced bakery items and the people there are always grumpy. Downright miserable, in fact. Superstore people are a little better, but even there, people are generally miserable. At No frills, everyone from the cashiers to the people who stock the shelves are friendly. Save money and feel good about it - nice!

I go to the no frills in coquitlam too. When it first opened it was great cause it wasn't too busy there. Then within a few months everyone found out about it and it's always packed now when i'm there. Guess I've got to start getting up earlier to do my shopping.

supersore no tax days are great for when you are hunting for that bigscreen TV.

ae101 04-10-2011 02:25 AM

i think super store is the last place u think to get a big screen tv

InvisibleSoul 04-11-2011 11:21 AM

No Frills is awesome... the budget version of Superstore... glad they opened the new one on Broadway. Before, the closest one was in the West End... and soon they'll have one at Fraser & 29th. Sweet.

It depends on what you're looking for in your tv. I got a 46 Sony ex400 (barebones 1080p, 60hz) for 699-10%(employee discount from a friend)-25 gift card-tax + eco fee. Net cost was about $640. No store can/could match that price, not even for a refurbished model.

Yeah, no frills is awesome. We need more of them around. Their produce selection is really good too.

When you say reduced bakery items, are they the day-olds?

They expire that day, or in No Frills' case, they expire in two days. This weekend, No Frills had skinless boneless chicken thighs for 30% off on top of the sale price. They ordered too much, and they expire in a week! Score! Stuff like that freeze relatively well. They had pork ribs on sale for $2.00/lb. Large freezer, ftw!

Bakery items are 50% off at No Frills and Superstore, while meat and poultry are 30% off.

Safeway "expires that day" bakery items are more than 50% off on some items. Bread for 79¢, $15.00 cakes for $5.00, half dozen fancy doughnuts and pastries for 99¢, etc.
