N test without an appointment

jsut wondering whats the fastest way to do the N test without an appointment. i just checked online and the next available one is in september.

walk ins might have to wait for like eight hours. does calling in work asking if someone has cancelled their appointments?

//RacingSpirit>> 06-29-2010 10:22 AM

your best bet would be to just show up when they open and wait for canceled appointments...

freakshow 06-29-2010 10:27 AM

Canceled appointments go to the people waiting in line. I don't think calling would help.
If you really want it, you need to pick a day and go wait at the DMV.

calling is your best chance for sure when i was booking mine it was a 2 month wait online but when i called i got it in 2 weeks

BlacknJean 06-29-2010 10:47 AM

did you call using the number given on the online booking website?

jpark 06-29-2010 10:53 AM

alot of N tests get cancelled surprisingly, so best bet is to call them and check up with them often

BlacknJean 06-29-2010 10:57 AM

when do you guys think is a best time to call?

greendb7 06-29-2010 11:13 AM

Anytime of the day, people call in all the time to cancel

Groot 06-29-2010 11:51 AM

You should make an appointment for september just in case you have no luck waiting lol

you will have to spend some time on the website. it does update when people cancel appointments, and you have to act fast and snag it. Also try other locations. I was not able to do a test for a long time in north vancouver, so i checked the burnaby location and it was 3 months earlier. Things like that. Good luck.

Qmx323 06-29-2010 11:58 AM

what i did was check EVERY day.

originally i was booked for February (which i booked in early December)
then i check every freaking day and got an appointment on December 28th.

Don't confine yourself to just one or two locations. If you really want to get your test done earlier, prepare to spend an extra few dollars and go to a slower city or town. Langley had something like a two month wait, so I checked and found a bunch of openings in Chilliwack the following week.

What's the N test consist of? I received my license before graduated licensing was introduced, so I'm just curious...

BlacknJean 06-29-2010 03:22 PM

i thought the online booking thing doesnt update real time and only daily? so i wouldnt know if someone cancels

DsZ24 06-29-2010 03:33 PM

Just go in right when it opens and get on the waiting list. Thats what I did, had to wait about 3 hours but in the end you should be leaving with a license. Well unless you can't drive lol

BlacknJean 06-29-2010 03:45 PM

^i waited for 3 hours this morning and i had to do something else and i just left. there were like 4 other ppl waiting as well. thats why im wondering if its easier if i do the call ins

Fafine 06-29-2010 05:54 PM

^ or just check online everyday, my buddy failed it and he checked everyday and found one exactly 2 weeks from the first time he took it.

Jayboogz 06-29-2010 06:33 PM

If you had a driving instructor he can get earlier test times as well

^my instructor is being a bitch. he got me an appointment on sept 28th and "claimed" that theres no more earlier time even though i told him to keep looking. thats why im tryinf to do it myself

Amaru 06-29-2010 09:05 PM

Don't they allow you to go in at 8am and wait to see if there are any cancellations? I seem to remember them saying to go in very early on a Friday...

Mr.Jay 06-29-2010 10:51 PM

you should just show up and wait like some people are saying

i wanted for 25mins and there was a cancellation

I'm just curious, but how do instructors get an earlier time? They don't work for ICBC. My instructor told me to book it myself, because it is the same as him doing it.

just fucking pick up the phone and stop being lazy. basically all of the cancelled appts never make it ot the online booking because SMART people pick the phone up and call.

some legit schools (as in not harpreeets super cool driving school) book off blocks on a monthly basis for their students. If you went to a small driving school they won't have this privilege.

do you guys know if going over 30 in playground zone during the test is a auto fail or pt deduction?
