They should just change all of their current plans to match winds. They'll make both their current customers happy and will attract new ones as well. This will then make Telus and Bell do the same cause if they don't they'll fall behind. And then bam sooner or later we'll have a real cellphone market in Canada that offers good plans at the right prices.
But hey I doubt they would though, it is Rogers after all.

doesnt matter how many brands are marketed, Robellus is Robellus.. if youve got a bad rep, would you still want to go back? or if you dont like them, why would you try something else thats from them also??

the wireless industry in canada is separated as the following
discount wireless vs premium
chat.r/wind/mobilicity/fido/solo/koodo all fall under the discount brand
bell/telus/rogers will always be premium with the latest and greatest devices
we are a small portion of their customer base.
unless bell or telus match wind directly, no one will, since bell and telus have their own discount brand.

why would rogers come out with a new brand when they can just lower the prices on the Fido brand? they still have their premium brand!

Can someone explain to me why Rogers is considered, 'Premium'? Besides their phones, I have no clue what about them is so premium. Their service is attrocious and varies largely on the CSR you get. The plans are nowhere competitive- but I guess that argument goes for all carriers in Canada.

How are winds prices any cheaper than a loyalty plan?
Eg. Wind - $35/month for
1) Unlimited call to any #from Wind zone
2) Wind to wind calling
3) Caller ID
4) 50 Texts
Add $20/month for data - 500MB
Add $5/month for unlimited texts
Totals $60/month
Vs. here's the loyalty plan Telus is offering me... (and they will have iPhone 4 which I will hopefully be able to get my hands on...)
$50/month
-150 daytime minutes
-Evenings start @ 6pm
-500 mb
-Caller ID
-Unlimited text
Basically... In my situation lose unlimited daytime calling before 6pm (at work anyways lol) and save 10 bucks and can get iPhone 4 w/ 3 yr contract price..!
Gonna try to add unlimited incoming to this package next time I call...

Gonna try to add unlimited incoming to this package next time I call... | well if you really like telus, then its good for you, i suppose.. i hated rogers...
and no contracts is good for me..
Dopnt forget, its not just call ID that you get.. also get missed call alerts, call forward, call conferencing, call waiting, call hold. and its Province wide calling not just within GVA... so if you have friends in kamloops or somewhere else.. its included
dont forget its half off for 6 months.. after you can cancel.. next go back and get on another promo or something...
i really dont need umlimted anything.. so for the next 5 months, i pay $7.50.. haha its all i need.. i dont talk or text much anyways...

Don't know about the rest of you, but I am seriously hoping this attempt fails. If they manage to kill off the new entrants, we're in for another decade of crappy cell phone plans.

WIND has more capitol than Rogers Telus and Bell
they are here to stay
at the same time, 5years from now, they could be doing the same thing that the big three are doing. At this moment, they still control the majority of the pricing in Canada

IF Wind and T-Mobile joined forces.. OMG can you believe what kinda of havoc they will create.. it will be like unlimited calling in North America or something.. DAMN imagine all the business.. they will have pretty much sentence Robellus to death.. hahaha...

T-Mobile has no interest in the Canadian market for the time being. If you remember, T-Mobile had a huge 20% financial stake in Microcell back in the day.
Rogers royally pissed T-Mobile off when they (Rogers) bought out Microcell (Fido) and cut all roaming agreements with them as Rogers wanted to stay loyal to AT&T at the time. Since then, T-Mobile has never signed an agreement nor have they ever been interested in having anything to do with the Canadian market other than the odd roaming customer.
