| Peter Lik
Anyone been to this guy's landscape galleries? I just checked them out in Las Vegas and his work is simply awe-inspiring. http://www.peterlik.com/photography/horizontal
He's like a modern day Ansel Adams. If you're in Vegas, definitely check out his galleries!

I think his photos are nice, but no where close to Ansel Adams. I think Ansel Adams's images have meaning behind it. While Peter Lik's photo's are mostly landscapes captured at dusk/dawn, using GND, and ND filters. I don't really "feel" anything behind his images.
This is all my opinion of course, and how you view and interpret his images represents the "feelings" that you get.

The photos are nice, but I wouldn't buy any of them for the prices he's asking...he's no Ansel Adams. He uses a 6x17 medium format camera - tiny compared to the 8x10 film Adams used. That's 6cm x 17cm film compared to 8 inch x 10 inch film. It also looks like Peter doesn't use the Zone System that Adams used. He's just (really) good at marketing himself to the general public.
There's another photographer who has about 4 galleries in Vegas who uses an 8x10 camera and a Phase One P65+ digital back. I can't remember his name, but his photos are incredible. I'd pay the $20,000 per print asking price if I had the money.

True, the technical quality of the prints themselves was top of the line.

The prints were very very large.. maybe 5 feet by 3 feet and they looked great in terms of sharpness.

I can prove it to you. We have a print from a 12MP file from a D2x that is about 5 feet wide, and is very sharp at a 4-5 foot viewing distance.
