Soon to be owner of a 6.0L V8 in a 2005 Pontiac GTO. First car was a 5.0 Foxbody and after 10 years of driving a 2.0L turbo, I really miss the torque.

Driving styles have changed, when I bought the MR2 10 years ago, I was able to drive it in a more relaxed manner and I could stretch the tank to 550kms before I needed a fill up. Now with everyone tail gating, pedal to the metal, I'd be lucky to get 300kms out of a tank.

As for V8's I don't think you know what your talking about.. american V8's are great. espeically the classics. Big Block 7L 454 pushing out 490 ft/lbs torque and 409 hp. Also with a quick wiki search there is a 9.4L V8 pushing out 720 hp 685 lb·ft. Show me a non supercar V8 that pushes out that much power without aftermarket upgrades.

I'm not literally saying 4 cylinder have better performance than a V8, in no way that's true but it's just making my point that American cars in general use bigger engines to make the same amount of power compared to an engine with less cylinders or just generally smaller.
everyone has their own opinion... and with performance and engines aside, American cars straight fuckin ugly

V6 is where it's at.

Respect the ride even if its a PoS. Get some fuCking English lessons while your at it, FOB bitch.
FYI I dont drive the lancer anymore, I don't care enough to update my profile. Quote:

I'm done / | Well for someone who has a supra as their avatar, I sure am amazed that you didn't mention Inline 6 rather then V6, as for 4cyl being PoS, 4G63 is a pretty damned good engine IMO. The lesson here kids, its not always about how much the engine can push out.

I'm done / | I won't argue with you on the V6 comment as I myself drive one. However, saying most 4-cylinder engines are pieces of shit is a bit extreme - our family has a Volkswagen with a 20V 1.8T and I love that little engine. It's got more then enough power for most people, it's pretty good on gas, and it's got ample amounts of torque for booting around town (what it's designed for). To be perfectly frank, our 1.8T hands-down destroys my V6 when it comes to in-town running around. My V6 has no real usable power except for on long back-roads, or the highway (turbo lag until 4200RPM). Again though, my car was built for top end, where the VW is built as an awesome commuter/city car.
Note: Vw is stock, other car not so much lol.
