Chongqing - China
 

Looks like I am 90% sure going to Chongqing for work next week, probably Tuesday/Wednesday. Anyone have any basic info on the city/been there before?

As a white guy who has never been to Asia before, are there any basic tips I should know about China in general before going so I am not completely shocked (aside from the organized chaos of all the people/bikes/cars).

If I do go, will post photos when I am back.

I'll have to make sure to watch my wallet and passport as well.

Leaving tomorrow night, have a 7 hour layover in Hong Kong, going to try and check it out for a few hours in between flights.

It's pretty hard to find a free public washroom. If you need to #2, bring your own toilet paper. Most public washrooms are pay washroom, and they will charge you for toilet paper.

Passports + wallet (basically anything important) = front pockets

if you carry a bag, always have it in front of you

Posting from Chongqing. Place is actually not too bad, aside from the heat. So humid that after 5 minutes you are drenched in sweat, never experienced something so gross before like this. The smog is so bad in this city, you can't see the sun on a clear day.

Turns out our client is a really cute 28 year old girl, she took us for authentic Hot Pot last night and then to a massage parlor (no happy endings included). She wanted to take me clubbing tonight but I had to say no cause I haven't slept in 2 days. I really wanted to go too :(

Had a 7 hour layover in Hong Kong so I got to check out Central and Kowloon really quickly. Amazing city, didn't want to leave.
