Win Mobile 7 (another failure?)

Kin has very little to do with WinPhone 7. They bought out Sidekick, worked a deal with Verizon to provide cheap data for the youth market. Somewhere they decided to use Windows Phone OS instead of Sidekick, which delayed the phone by 18 months. Verizon got pissed, and subsequently only provided normal data plans. With such expensive plans, it didn't work out for the market they were going for. Plus the OS itself wasn't very good but again, is nothing like Windows Phone 7.

The failure of Kin will tell us absolutely nothing about how well Windows Phone 7 will do.

has anyone heard reports of winmobo devices ever getting the BSOD?

Mostly freezing or extreme slowness if the app is not programmed well. I remember having some more obscure apps freezing on me when I was using a Winmo phone

Never seen it on my phones and I've been through many winmo phones. The problem with Windows Mobile was that it was essentially a PDA OS with added phone functions. Instead, they should've rethought the entire OS for a new era of mobile devices. I'm currently using a Motorola Milestone, not because I don't like WinMo, it's because Samsung put out a 6.1 update that killed my GPS and didn't want to wait for a fix so I thought I'd give Android a try til Windows Phone 7 comes out. So far, i like what I see with WinPho7 but I wouldn't buy a first gen device so I see myself using Android for at least 2 more years before jumping back to Windows. iPhone... closed system... don't care...
