Did a quick title search, looks like this hasn't been posted yet w/all the Avengers interest.
Green Lantern movie is being made with Ryan Reynalds.
That's a fan made outfit, this is the real one, saw it this morning on the news wire.
Looks like crap. What a useless superhero, I doubt more than a handful of people even know who or what Green Latern is. I never heard of him until they crammed in some Green Latern references into the production I work on.
My AFC gave me an ABS CEL code of LOL while at WOT!

Yea I noticed that and put up the "official" picture.
i wouldn't mind a green lantern movie, especially if done right. the ring constructs could be a bit corny though, i suppose, if they wanted to use them for comic relief.... like a giant old shoe to squash the villains or sth...
^agreed. the green lantern movie could open up the door to a justice league one in response to marvels avengers, although i dont see bale and his batman being in on something like that.
It seems the only people that know who Green Latern is are those that are interested in comics, the rest of the general public (majority of the population) have no idea. I would venture to say that there are only 2 comic characters that everyone knows of, Superman and Batman, then you got those that most know off like Xmen, then you have those that only comic fans know of like Green Latern.

The same could be said about iron man, fantastic four and the hulk. although the last two were failures.
They're making an Avengers movie. I'm sure not many people know who the Avengers are, let alone any of the members.
Green Lantern's actually a really important character in the Justice League. I totally suggest you all check out the very good cartoon series that was recently done for them. (Also Superman/Batman under the Red Hood but that's just a plug for some fantastic voice work). Green Lantern's got a lot more of a fan following then Iron Man did prior to the movies, and I know several people for whom he's their absolute favorite character.
That said, I can't stand the Mask. Ryan Reynold's face is too pretty to cover it up so lamely!

Green Lantern is awesome! I dunno bout Ryan Reynolds' as Hal Jordan tho. He's perfect for Deadpool since he's a comedian but Hal Jordan isn't that type of character.
It's kinda like Chris Evans as Captain America. Perfect as Johnny Storm but I dunno bout Cap...
For those of you who don't know much about the Green Lantern, I suggest you guys download or rent the animated movie, Green Lantern First Flight.
if they can do that in real action this could be worth watchin
Green Latern is a major part of DC and his powers are pretty cool until there became like 12 different power rings and everyone started gettin one

My sentiments exactly.
However, all the marvel movies are tied together and are building towards the Avengers.
