rbc platinum visa Once approved for a rbc platinum visa, what's the credit limit they usually give you? Do they base this on your income or credit history? |
minimum is 10k |
mine is 5k min up to 25k i believe. |
rbc removed most minimum credit limit restrictions from their cards . only the infinite avion has a min 5k limit. min is 1k max rbc will do for a public banking client is 50k but on very rare occasions. yes it will be based on income and history. assets as well. |
i think avion has a min 5k limit? someone correct me if im wrong... |
previously the avion had a 5m min limit. but it was decreased to 1m and the infinite avion dropped from 10m to 5m. |
when i had the Platinum avion i had 5 automatically, and then once i got the Infinite i had 10 automatically which is now 12 i think, they offered me the extra 2 just out of the blue one day when i called in i got the infinite probably a year and a half ago though |

if you have good credit for many years they will raise it a lot. and you can probably raise it every half year or so. I started with a shitty student card at CIBC, like 500 buck limit or something lame. now 8 or 9 years later im on a cibc gold infinite. my limit is 20g. but I know i can go up to like 30 or 40. I just didn't ask. They phone me up once a year trying to get me to raise it lol. |
RBC keeps moving my credit up. I have to keep telling them to reduce it or lock it at the current. |

5mm would be 5 million. 5k and 5g are accepted slangs for 5,000. |
^^ thanks for clearing that up, no wonder i had a client fill in 2.2 mm for annual salary, i was like multi-millions lol |

everytime I called in to ask for a replacement card, I kept giving the wrong credit limit number because they kept raising it without telling me. I am sitting on 12K right now, fuck my monthly spending is 1K, why would I need a 18.99% LoC?! |

Minimum for avion card is $5000 up to $50000. of course if u want more than that go to branch and present your proof of income and assets. depends both they look at your credit check and income. banks usually get ur credit report every 3 months. |
