Got my 2 32s and what I found so funny was that they used windows XP to do the activations on the Rogers site. I asked him and he's like "yeah the providers web based system only works on windows..." I lold.

ok dumb question..but for oakridge and PC...are the doors to the mall actually open at like 6am??

i'm gonna go line up tmw LOL

JordanLee 08-10-2010 12:35 PM

Doors to Oakridge are at the Kims farm market side and they open super early cause they use the security entrance. PCs east facing entrance was open as well. I opened the first door I saw out of the skytrain.

when i went to pc last sat i got in through the parking lot through the food court elevator

Is it safe to assume that they actually have a huge stockpile in the back, but are only allowed to sell X amount of iPhones per day? So if I go line up tomorow @ 6 or 7, are my chances of getting one good ?

anyways seems like stocks are still very tight right now? I want to exchange my 16gb for a 32 gb at the apple store... any chance of that happening?

How true is this ? Why would you need unlock when most come factory unlocked?

Only ones sold at apple store come unlocked. Any ones bought thru fido, rogers, etc. And in the states are locked

you don't, majority of the iphone are sold at a subsidize price and thus lock. You will need the unlock for those phone. If you are willing to shell out the full price i don't see any reason not to buy factory unlocked.

But yea the unlock for ip4 right now is still under development. lot of report bugs and major battery drain. It will get better though no doubt, i had it software unlock on my 3g and it was relatively stable and minimal is any extra battery drain.

I'm hoping to get a phone through Apple Store but renegotiate contract on fido... im contemplating if i should go line up tmr morning .. how are my chances if i go @ like lets say 7?

TypeRNammer 08-10-2010 06:33 PM

Looks like I'm gonna buy the phone online, don't wanna be stuck with a stacked contract :(

15 months + another 3 years on top is too long

murd0c 08-10-2010 06:35 PM

when you renew your contact don't you just start a new 3yrs? the remaining contract time doesn't get added on top of your new contract.

RabidRat 08-10-2010 07:00 PM

^ yeah that's how it's worked for me in the past as well.

TypeRNammer 08-10-2010 07:08 PM

There are ppl over at howardforums complaining about how their contracts are getting stacked under the fido section.

Why are they complaining? Did they not know that it would be 3 years on top of their existing contract?

You gotta be pretty stupid if that's the case.

murd0c 08-10-2010 07:18 PM

ummm wow thats really getting screwed. I thought they couldnt do that?

TypeRNammer 08-10-2010 07:20 PM

On my last renewal, I had 14 months left on my contract, then I upgraded to iphone 3g and had a fresh contract.

But now there stacking contracts.

Correct. I hup'd on both Rogers and fido. Rogers reset to 3 years, my fido stacked.

murd0c 08-10-2010 10:18 PM

ok I thought Rogers didn't stack. That would be a joke if they did.

metal 08-10-2010 10:56 PM

Yeah, Fido is the only one that stacks, to my knowledge.

Orion 08-11-2010 12:00 AM

stupid fido... by the next iphone i'll stack again and i'm stuck with a 6 year life contract lol...

DJ Milk 08-11-2010 12:14 AM

The most it can stack to is 50 months which is a little over 4 years. 14 months plus 3 years :troll:
