Rogers official policy is that there are not supposed to be waiting lists - it's supposed to be first-come first-served and stores are not allowed to pick and choose who they sell to (new customers for higher commissions vs upgrades for lower). I told them this has happend to me twice, and I would have my iPhones by now if stores weren't holding out on iPhones. Next thing you know I'm getting phones shipped to me direct. :) |

just called Rogers and explained my experiences. told them lansdowne and aberdeen was doing this repeatedly. really dislike that lady from lansdowne. call center made me hold for 10 minutes, but it was worth it...they are shipping me one. customer relations saves the day. |

I called yesterday. The guy didn't sound pleasant and told me to go to the Apple store. |
^^ because im pretty sure thousands or hundreds of thousands have called the retention line at this point I was at FS in DT at 12:30pm or something and had my gf asked one of the sales ppl there have stock only to realize the customer next to her just bought the last 16gb.... dangit.. still not willing to line up though it just occured to me now but has anyone check out or bought off Rogers Plus stores? |
I've gone to a number of rogers plus stores and nothing, they have lists of people that want them |
^Yeah lists don't mean anything though. When they get a shipment in, its first come first serve. Just go to one of the stores right after they open, and check if they have any. |
lol why not just go to the states and buy one if you guys wanted one so bad. |

My phone shipped from Hong Kong to Alaska last night. Now it's in Ontario??? WTF??? |
I was in West Edmonton Mall on holidays 2 weeks ago and 2 Rogers stores had phones in stock, but were waiting for people on their "list". Had I known about Rogers first-come first-serve policy, I would have told the prick behind the counter that I'm going to phone Rogers right now and tell them one of their reps is refusing to sell me phones he had in stock. Makes me wonder how many people really know about the first come first served policy and just simply gave up on their chance to get a phone sitting right in front of them because they were told it was "reserved". BTW, I should clarify. This is snipped from my e-mail from Rogers. It is true that stores are not supposed to offer waiting lists for the iPhone 4 in accordance with Apple Inc’s launch plans for the device. Any independently owned store that provides waiting lists could technically face an internal fine for doing so. Sounds to me that this is an Apple policy, not a Rogers one and should apply to any store. So, if you're at a store that has stock but is waiting for people on their list to come in, I'd demand they sell you a phone or you'll call Rogers/Bell/Fido/Telus and complain they're refusing to sell you an iPhone. |
You guys still lining up at the stores? Damn guess even if they do get stock would prolly get sold out in minutes. Guess I'll have to wait a month or 2 for the rush to die down .......... |
ya like i said, just wait a month or 2 for apple to replenish their stock, for the entire world!! or maybe rumours are true of a 2nd gen version of iphone 4 being released in a month or 2 with minor fix on the antenna problem, thats why apple hasnt been able to provide enough stocks |
