Who is going to line up to get an Iphone4

Yes I know there is a thread for The iPhone 4 Thread (it's the iPhone 4, not 4G) but this is strictly to see who is going to line up to get one. I DON'T want to get the 2 thread mix up as it gets confusing.

I know one guy from work is going to get it on launch day. I plan to wait and see since I don't want to pay for the super expensive price for it yet.

I'll wait for a decent data plan. I'd jump on the iPhone 4 if the $30/6GB came back, or anything close.

this will not come back as there is no more ATT unlimited plan, in whch it would not make sense for ROGERS to come out with a 6gb, unless BELL/TELUS does.

Iceman_2K 07-21-2010 07:05 PM

buying direct from apple provides an unlocked phone where as buying from the carrier is carrier locked isn't it?

vafanculo 07-21-2010 07:30 PM

Did they fix the problems with the first launch of iPhone 4?

On a sidenote, I don't know why they released iOS4, because to be honest now that theres folders and multitasking available, I'm really happy with my 3GS.

With that being said, I might go for iPhone 4 in a year or so, especially after they fix the antenna problem.

I sold my 3GS, and I'm debating on getting the iPhone 4, or the HTC EVO..
I know a few people who are going to line up for the iPhone 4, though. They're camping overnight!

I really dont think they will fix it. Jobs already said that he WILL NOT issues any recalls and says its perfectly fine, then when on complaining with other phones with similar issues with the antenna...

so i highly doubt he will fix this problem with the next batch of the iphone 4...

bigzz786786 07-22-2010 12:49 AM

^agreed, there is not "fix" for the antenna issue

they even showed pictures on "how to hold an iphone4", saying that those who have antenna issues are "holding it wrong" ha

i was going to get this phone till they said they weren't going to fix it

now im just gonna wait for the nokia n8

So Apple won't be doing like a pre-order system like in some countries?

If I don't have work, I think I will take on the challenge of lining up. never lined up for anything before, but I really need a new phone!

so you choose to line up for the iPhone4, knowing well that the antenna problem? as long as your not gona complain after you get it..

Tim Budong 07-23-2010 01:14 AM

Keeps in mind that ATT network sucks, coupled with the antenna issues doesn't help the cause. the phone is fine in Europe and japan. Only signal loss, but not quite dropped calls. Wait and see since the big 3RD have way better networks than that of att

^ it is still a defective product, even apple fanboy like myself should realize this. Anyways i was so excited and can't wait to line up when they initially introduce it and put a july 4th date on canada release. Now not so much, the antenna issue and the way apple decide to address couple with the fact that i have since dump alot of money into my car. I think i will wait. I can wait a little while till the craze die down and get 1 with my fido dollar :)

i've been reading up on diy fixes for the antenna issue, ppl have been experiencing sucesss with using stuff like rubberband and nail polish. Apple certainly can use a similiar but more elegant way to fix the issue. I won't be surprise if apple do release a fixed model a year later. When people complain, steve jobs will just tell you that they didn't change shit, its all in your head.

it is true the iphone is defective, but digging deeper into the situation, apple needed a quick fix and address the PR mess at home b4 really getting into fixing it. I need a few days with the 4 to test out how it will be on a canadian network. The test begins soon

TypeRNammer 07-23-2010 03:20 AM

If they only brought back the 6gb plan...

DanHibiki 07-23-2010 03:42 AM

Rumors has it they have been doing "silent recall" in that if you had any other problems with your phone and came back to replace it, the new one they give you is actually a second batch where the antenna problem has been fixed

I'm not going to line up, but I'm still getting an iPhone 4.

And I'm not going to complain about antenna issues since there's a 100% chance I will never experience any "issues".

heard about this yesterday as well

Crowtservo 07-23-2010 07:03 AM

I'm so sick of all the misinformed people about the antenna issues. It works out better for me though since a lot of people will probably wait before buying it meaning better chance that I can get one after work on launch day.

http://gizmodo.com/5587029/iphone-4-...eaders-confirm

not really an article but yea

DanHibiki 07-23-2010 02:36 PM

Oh Ya I read that in the iphone 4 thread but it was posted in the 14th. Was there anything new since?

InvisibleSoul 07-23-2010 02:56 PM

I'll get one as soon as I qualify for the hardware upgrade price... I think that would be in October.

I tried one out down in Vegas, and the antenna issue shouldn't be a problem for me... I hold it in my left hand, but not in such a way that degrades the signal.

bigzz786786 07-23-2010 03:23 PM

i have a friend at the rogers company and he told me that the iphone 4 will have the antenna problem fixed before releasing it to the public in canada
