how long does the battery on u guys' vibrant's last? on my tmobile one, i unplug at 8am and it dies at 530pm.... i dont use it that much either maybe 20 of call and 30 min of browsing.. the rest standby.
takes like 5 hours to get a full charge too. is that normal? even my iphone 2g wasnt this bad. Fuk going from a Huawei pos that lasts a week on a full charge to this is horrendous!

Try turning off autosync. Should help a bit on the battery life.

also this isent an n1 its a galaxy s and has different cpu and display, the display being the major battery saver.
when im not using the phone nothing is running only the signal bars are on the top bar. I have no widets or apps that poll the phone i dont run app killers as they can pole the phone up to every 5 seconds, and android system is quite capable of killing tasks to free memory by itself. infact task killers can cause the lag problem to be worse than normal.

84 hours. Seems in line with KUVG's post.
The Galaxy S has a 45nm CPU, not 65nm... this saves power.
The Galaxy S has an S-AMOLED screen which is 20% more efficient than the regular AMOLED in the N1.
The Galaxy S has a 1500mAh battery while the N1 is 1400mAh
No kernel can make up for that. Good effort though!

Just looked through a battery post on the i9000 on XDA and most have not made it past 48 hours with actual usage. I mean you practically aren't using the phone as a smartphone if you can get that sorta battery life.

Let me try to understand this kuvg's claim:
kuvg still make use of the capabilities of the smartphone when he wants to use it. When the phone is NOT in use, nothing is running in the background.
But i would like to know - what kind of stuff kuvg been doing when making use of the potentials of the i9000 while still get that 88hrs.

was the battery life bad on your vibrant like mine out of the box or was it better? thanks | it never lasted that long out of the box. i fully charged it, killed it so that it turns itself off and fully charged it again (did that like 3 times) now i try to do a full discharge/recharge once a week.
as i said in previous posts there are many power control widgets that allow you to turn features like wifi,data,bt,gps on/off. i also advise againsed using programs like auto task killer because they constantly "talk" to the phone using the cpu and keeping it from sleeping the android system will kill a task when it needs memory and those other programs are just gimmicks imho
