I think people are just bitter about the GPS issues and the fact that samsung rarely updates their phones. I don't think their hardware is all that bad, plus no one else has such a sexy screen lol Posted via RS Mobile |

Apart from the fact that Samsung would seriously piss MS off because it’s the big launch of their WP7 Samsung Trophy at that event, there’s a few other things that don’t add up:
1. The event is a Samsung, not Google, event. If it’s a Nexus Two, it should be a Google Nexus Two (made by Samsung but unbranded by them – that’s if they are making it at all), not a Samsung Nexus Two, and should be announced at a Google event.
2. One of the people that was supposedly “backing up” the author of the rumor is in the comments saying he thinks it will be the Samsung Continuum.
3. Why would Google waste time with a Nexus Two when hardware at this time is only marginally better than the Nexus One? Mass production of phones with dual-core CPUs is still a little way off.
4. If Google is working closely with Samsung, surely they could have lent a hand getting FroYo out for the Galaxy S as this is surely making Android look bad by highlighting the fragmentation issue.
5. If Samsung are in any way involved with the SW, for example supplying the drivers, I’d probably skip this phone anyway.
Maybe Samsung are just announcing that they’ve hired two high school students to write their software and as a result their programming team has just doubled in experience and expertise?

Once 2.2 is out.... the phone is complete. but until then, I still see my galaxy S as a phone with broken software

There is suppose to be a gps fix out there where you can change inside the service menu. I did it couple days ago. But forgot where i read it since i have crap loads of tabs open in my browser and everything is related to android consider that this is my first android phone so i wanted to learn as much as i could =). I did the tweak and was testing it with my girlfriend. Even she was impressed how fast the GPS update your location and turn to turn direction.
