Advertisment

What would be the best method aside from "Word of mouth" for a new business to advertise? I'm in the process of opening up a repair business but was just ponderin being fairly new to vancouver what the ideal way of goin bout advertising for myself.

I've considered Hiring an advertising dude professional, but its nothing something i want to just bang out couple g's for a new aspiring business, something just a good start up...

what would you considered reading/watching/hearing when your listening for business advertisement?

Repairing what?

For almost all repairs on my house and car I have consulted local forums for recommendations and gone with guys who I could see some of their work beforehand. For anything else it is usually the yellowpages and going with the company that has the best website with examples of work.

Looking professional goes a long way, and I suspect that is even more true in this yuppy filled city.

If you don't want to make a traditional website for your business, at least get a blog going with examples of your work and contact info. Kinda like wedding photographers - their best advertisement is usually the fact that people link their wedding photos off the company website, so i you like the wedding photos, you already have the link to contact the photographer.
