Basketball Shoes Can anyone direct me to a website for reviews? Or suggestions on shoes? My shoes are finally wearing out after 6 years, need a new pair. |
not sure about reviews. but i can suggest the kobe zoom. i have two pairs of the IV but i'm sure the V is more or less the same. as far as comfort, they are great. they are super light and helps you move a lot quicker. downsides are durability and for some, ankle support because it's low top. as far as durability goes, if a pair lasted you 6 years then i wouldn't worry about it too much. lol. and for the ankle support, not a problem in my opinion. i've rolled my ankles many many times with many regular basketball shoes and it doesn't matter. when you roll an ankle, you roll an ankle. just gotta be careful when you play. |
+1 for the kobe zoom iv's, wicked shoe |
If you can get a hold of a pair of these, they're awesome. http://members.shaw.ca/bluetiger17/2k4.jpg The Nike Zoom Huarache 2004 are my favourites. Zoom Kobe I was awesome too. |
I think basketball shoes depend on personal preference...The best choice for you is to go to a Footlocker/Champs/Nike Town and just try on different shoes and walk around in them and try to see which one feels the best for you... I've heard good reviews on the Zoom Kobe's but I personally don't like the way they feel. It also depends on your foot shape as well etc etc. P.S: I think Footlocker or Champs is having their Friends and Family sale this month.. (I think) so you can wait it out and go get some shoes with 30% off :) |
old basketball shoes are way better looking and feel better IMO. I'm rockin a pair of these today. Easily one of my favorite kicks ever http://cdn.complex.com/blogs/wp-cont...ir-penny-1.jpg |
I've been playing basketball since I was 15, and even played Pro in Europe for a season, and the best basketball shoe I have ever put on my feet is the new Nike Hyperize. I currently own 3 pairs of Hyperize shoes in different colors, and a few other basketball shoes as well. I'm a shooting guard so this shoe gives me everything, the sole is very flexible which is the most important thing to a guard, so I get good lateral movement, stability, and it's the lightest basketball shoe around. Only thing that sucks about the shoe is weak ankle support, but that doesn't bother me because I wear ankle braces. The newer model would be the Air Max Hyperize, same thing except a bit heavier because of the air bubbles on the soles. I'm currently trying to get ahold of the Air Max hyperize below in the last 3 pics but they aren't on sale yet. For basketball shoes, (assuming your buying the shoes to play ball) its personal preferences, how well you can move in them, and are you relaxed in them (in the shoes for a long time) I would look at the ankle support (do you need it, or does your ankle have to be free?, is there a thick or thin sole etc. I am currently wearing the kobe zooms. I like it because its hella light. The bad thing about it is the soles pretty thick. ( I like shoes that are not elevated) |
Promodel 3g's the old ones are the best, I used them since grade 8 and just finished grade 12 with em but if you want more ankle support hyperizes and hurache 2k5 or 4's are solid Posted via RS Mobile |
If you're getting Kobe's get the Kobe IV's...much better shoe than the Kobe V's. I just got a pair of the new Hyperfuse. They're really snug and light...worth checking out. |
I don't buy nice shoes to ball in anymore. I buy nice shoes only to walk in :lol. I'm currently using these starbury's to ball in. Got them for $10 in the states  Pretty comfy as well http://www.arcticwrist.com/sitebuild...combo22003.jpg |

Anyone remember reading Kicksology back in the day? Their reviews and photography were great, but I think they shut down like 5 years ago. Looks like they're back under a different site: http://solecollector.com/live/category/kicksology/ |
