My 9780 just arrived... OS6 seems slick although I'm still trying to figure out how to efficiently use it where as I had OS5 setup pretty well for what I wanted it to do. Camera seems pretty sweet though.

how much without contract and if it breaks can i bring it back to your store for warranty? i'm with fido last time I bought a 9700 from someone on craigslist which he ordered direct from rogers = rogers won't do warranty work unless I have a rogers line....

6insomnia9 11-15-2010 01:10 AM

It is 560 after tax, not sure about the warrenty.

you must have a rogers line for the warranty to apply
or else you hang on to the invoice and contact RIM directly

its 499 without contract b4 tax

Who here browse the net a lot on their phones?

Would 1GB be good enough for monthly usage?

1GB is huge for blackberry, most people can't even use up 500mb on their bb.

Nechako87 11-18-2010 02:35 PM

and with even faster wifi, more people will just be using that

Bonka 11-18-2010 03:26 PM

In 5 days I've used a little over 80mb so far - at this rate I'd be near my 500mb limit in a month but we'll see.

This is using 3G exclusively, at least 20 emails daily and some sporadic browsing and texting. I streamed a few small YouTube vids in there too. I don't consider myself a heavy user so at least for me it seems possible to go over 500mb.

Armind 11-18-2010 03:36 PM

Hmm will the data still be compressed if i use 3G?

Bonka 11-19-2010 06:15 AM

Yes. That's why BlackBerries need BB specific data plans as they access RIM servers for data compression.

w00tgasm 11-19-2010 08:31 AM

APN3Con if you have other data plans.
Gives you access to BIS.

I have 500mb plan, I go on RS 24/7, I received over 65emails a day, and reply to atleast 20. Browse internet when I'm bored.

Monthly usage = 240mb.
