Blackberry 9780

Does anybody have one yet? They are not released in the US yet but some Canadians claim to have them and ******* has them for sale for $649.

Really need to replace my 9000 but dont want to buy a 9700 just to have the 9780 come out in a few more weeks...

This is a thread started by a Canadian guy with photos on page 3 I believe of his 9780.

Crazy stuff.

Why is RIM repeatedly making the same design with different OS?

Rim's simplistic and get down to business design + their keyboard is what made them popular, of course they are sticking to what they do best.

Can you imagine apple not making a portable device with emphasize on multimedia features?

It's either the 9800 or 9700 for me. I think I'm going to get the 9800 give it test and if I hate it and the same problems are happening that ppl are saying then I'll get the 9700

I'm not sure if it has warranty but the guy who sold it to me assured me that it still has manufacturer warranty I have one right now. The phone is fully working but glitchy. It's a bit laggy, as well as it sometimes doesn't boot properly but besides that the phone is a big improvement over the 9700. It could just be the os but I love the feel right now.

I bought a 9700 to get me over the mean time while I wait for the 9780 but that's great news. I'm planning on getting one asap through Rogers with my hardware upgrade, maybe we might even have them in November!

My honest opinion is 9800 torch is a fucking piece of shit, seriously the build quality on that thing is so bad. My first torch was wobbling back and forth when I pushed the buttons or the screen on the top part of the slider when it was open. After likle 3 pushes it would become solid then when I slid it down to close it became wobbling from side to side.

My second torch I got replaced with, the battery cover starts having give in it, moving up and down a bit. The slider became loose and wobbled side to side. The build quality is absolute shit on this phone. I called rogers to get a replacement and apparently its normal. I had slider phones like HTC and LG before and they were rock solid, no problems at all.

I went from the 9000->9700->9800, 9700 is by far the best phone I have ever used. Everything is so smooth and its built solid. I will be selling my torch when the 9780 comes out because that thing is so fucking crappy I dont even wanna look at it. The only good thing about the 9800 is the os6 but even then it lags, doesnt run smooth. BTW the resolution on the screen is shitty too, if your wallpaper looks good in portrait mode, when you tilt the phone to landscape you will see pixels and shit.

what the hell, they didn't even do a processor upgrade? I'm kind of glad I didn't hold out for this phone then.

so they took a 9700: doubled the ram, upped camera and installed OS6 on it.

i've heard the same stuff,
i haven't heard too many issues from my friend about his torch but the 9780 looks very promising, all the best qualities of the 9700 and the 9800.

Whew. I was stalling on getting the 9700 and when I checked recently Telus took it off their product line. So glad this is coming out.

I heard Bell delayed the release, so does that mean Telus will get it next year?
