GM's new windshield system

While this maybe a pretty cool idea, and it looks pretty cool too. But I wonder how much it would cost to replace if it was smashed or a rock chips it.

^ The piece of glass is still just a piece of glass.

It's only if you break those sensors, projectors and cameras when you'll end up with a hefty bill for repairs.

donjalapeno 08-15-2010 09:58 AM

id give it a week before something gets screwed up

then you shouldn't even buy a car with sunroof, ac, abs etc because they will eventually go wrong. :bullshit:

i think you misunderstood him lol.

he's saying it's NOT a problem for the glass to shatter because it's the separate sensors, projectors, and cameras that would be expensive to replace. this was in response to a comment that it would be an expensive windshield to replace.

orange7 08-15-2010 08:42 PM

next is a jb detector installed in all gm cars.

not just that, but the glass would allow you to see through their skirts and short shorts, making their bush available.

1 click usually not enough to engage the ebrake pads. it takes 3+ clicks.

RabidRat 08-16-2010 12:24 AM

^ I think if you've set your handbrake tension properly, it should already begin to engage by the first click, and definitely not til 3+ clicks.

TRD Rs200 08-16-2010 02:44 AM

i dont see it fucking useful at all, if you cant drive, it doesnt matter how much high tech gadgets is in your car, you still CANT FUCKING DRIVE!

hk20000 08-16-2010 08:45 AM

Holy old re-post (maybe not on RS though..) ... March 30, 2010 to be exact..

As I said five months ago... this is for the Americans who need Fox's blue-puck in order to follow along with hockey.

On most GM cars? That would only work before the 2000 model year. Nice try though. The car would just ding at you, and as soon as you start moving the DRLs would come on anyway. But.. there's one wire you clip and ground to fix that (and no, it's not the e-brake wire..)
